    Hello ,

It’s gonna be a quick fire 1-2-3 email this week (maybe you even prefer them that way?) Here goes…

    CHECKLIST

I love a checklist – they are more powerful than you might think. They:

    ✅ Save time

✅ Keep your head clear for what matters

    ✅ They even save lives

WAY back in 2017, we made a podcast episode about checklists – and it’s a GREAT listen. It even features Steve-In-The-Field (my nemesis)...

LAST NIGHT A CHECKLIST SAVED MY LIFE

Some of the references might have got a bit out of date over the past 7 years, but the main ideas are perhaps even more valid in this world of overwhelm than they were back in 2017

(I now use Todoist to do most of the things I covered at the end.)

    BUSINESS IMPACT OF LEARNING

(If you have a learning function in your business this may be interesting – if not – skip to the next one.)

    ❌ There’s NO POINT DOING TRAINING…

…unless it has an impact on behaviours, and ultimately solves business problems.

If you wanna measure the impact of learning in your business – here’s an article about it (the last two points are often overlooked)

MEASURING THE BUSINESS IMPACT OF LEARNING

➡️ Have a read and if you need help – ask me!

    TAKING NOTES MORE EFFECTIVELY

Jim Kwik has loads of great stuff. This video about how to take notes is no exception.

See if you can spot similarities to a system that YOU AND I might know very well

Episode 95 - In this episode, we are resharing one from the archives about the humble checklist.

In today's complex and sophisticated life, we often have equally complex solutions. However, sometimes there's still a place for the simple checklist. It can be a lifesaver, and in certain circumstances - literally.

Some of the stuff in there is:

    • Why should we consider checklists?
    • Who uses them
    • Our brain and why it needs help at times
    • We considered the Psychology Today article on why we only retain certain information
    • What you've got in common with an airline pilot, a doctor, a diver - and me
    • The solutions we come up with to make allowances for our brain's limitations

It's been a while. After a 4 year gap, we're back at the kitchen table for a conversation soooo long, we had to make it into two episodes!

    • How it helps
    • Why asking these questions helps our relationship:

    • What are you looking forward to in the upcoming week?
    • What's something worrisome/hard that's happening in the coming week(s)? Is there something I can do to help?
    • What can I do next week to make you feel more loved?
    • Yearly Vision Planning

    • The impact
