Through the Realm of Light and Shadow - Session One, Part Four

In this final segment of our first session, our team is left with a choice - How far will they go to discover who has captured them?  And as they debate what is right and wrong, will the team start to turn on themselves?
___________________________________________________________________________

"Through the Realm of Light and Shadow" is an original role-play adventure based in the Lord of the Rings setting.  Check out the original video version here:

https://youtu.be/ybLmMPj1Vkw

Journey with us and hopefully even be inspired in your own life and faith as you see our team strive to overcome challenges.

Special Note:  Players usually attempt to role-play how they believe their character would act in various situations.  We may not always agree with those responses or actions in real life.

This adventure features laughter and fun banter between the players, however, it also depicts battles and overcoming some challenging situations.  So like the Lords of the Rings movies, we recommend this tale be enjoyed by teenagers and older.

To bring our adventure to life we are using the "Adventures in Middle Earth" core books by Cubicle 7, which is based on the 5e ruleset from D&D.  Find out more about those resources here:

How has the Board Game Industry been impacted with so many people having to remain at home?  Have families taken this opportunity to play games together more?  Are Virtual Tabletop Games helping gaming groups stay connected while they have not been able to meet in person?

Meanwhile, some board games have been able to continue their production most notably Frosthaven (the sequel to the massively successful Gloomhaven) has raised almost $13 million on Kickstarter.  And Marvel Champions (just released the end of last year) announced its first major expansion.

In Marvel Champions, cards in your hands can serve multiple purposes.  The challenge is to be willing to discard some cards in order to have the chance to draw even better ones.  In life, do we also face the challenge of being willing to let some things go for the opportunity to be blessed even more?

[Topics: Patience, Endurance]

How has the Movie Industry responded to the virus?  Will the shift to Renting New Releases, Movies Going Direct to Streaming, and/or Pushing Back Theater Releases help the industry endure the economic impact of recent months?

Could there actually be any benefits that could arise from movie studios pushing back some film releases?  And with all of the difficulties many have had to endure, have you personally seen any benefits arising throughout these challenging times?

[Topics: Listening; Feeling Heard and Understood]

How has the video game industry been adapting to the current global crisis?   We discuss some of the latest gaming news including info being released about the Next Generation of Consoles, Feedback on the Final Fantasy 7 remake, and the next World of Warcraft Expansion.

Also, there are some positive signs that some game developers are actually listening to the feedback of their fans.  How do you feel when it seems like your thoughts have been heard and positively responded too?  Do you know God desires to hear our thoughts and also respond to our prayers?

An Encouraging Thought...

We often do not get the chance to choose our circumstances nor the challenges we face.  However, every day, we do have the opportunity to choose JOY.

In this Encouraging Thought, we share how you can choose JOY no matter what situation you may be going through, and hopefully, you can share that JOY with others.

An Encouraging Thought...

Do you have a little extra time on your hands right now?  Have you had an interesting idea or project that you really wanted to pursue?

Not everyone considers themselves to be an ARTIST (although we might dispute that).  But we want to encourage you that EVERYONE is at the very least, CREATIVE.

In this encouraging thought, we share how you can practically bring your CREATIVE ideas to life.  And how this process can bring joy to you, to others, and to the GOD who CREATED YOU.

[Scripture Reference: Genesis 1:1-5]

An Encouraging Thought for you...

We are living in some Uncertain Times right now.  It's natural to have concerns or to be thinking about "What Ifs..."

But how can we continue to do the "right" things even during this time?  How can we continue to hold on to hope and share that hope with others?

[Scripture Reference: Daniel 3:17-18]
