    Video: https://youtu.be/NgLMJinRAPk
Shaytan has made a promise to Allah that he will do whatever he can to misguide mankind. He has promised to try and lure mankind away from Allah with material possessions and fame, while threatening them with poverty. Verses of the Quran show Shaytan's promise not just to Allah but to mankind as well.

Allah mentions a conversation between the people of Jannah and the people of Jahannam and how Shaytan will renege on his promise on the Day of Judgement.
Verses relating to charity precede those in which Shaytan threatens a person with poverty. Spending in the way of Allah and the quality of what to give are discussed towards the end of the talk.

  • The Prophet's ﷺ Love & Concern for his Ummah
The Prophet's ﷺ Love & Concern for his Ummah
Delivered by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq on Friday 15th December 2017 at Al Kawthar Academy, Leicester (UK)
    Video: https://youtu.be/Tzr1Mc6-fg0
Every prophet has been sent like a father to their nation in order to guide them towards Allah. Their care and concern for their ummah comes from a place of love and responsibility rather than that of authority. Many of these examples have been brought in the Quran, showing the words used by these messengers despite the responses of their people.
The Prophet’s ﷺ compassion for his ummah exceeded that of the previous messengers. He wished for everyone to believe and attain success in the hereafter, which is why he did not waste any opportunity to speak to people and call them towards Allah. Despite the hardships faced by the Prophet ﷺ he continued to pray for those who were misguided and showed compassion even to his enemies.
This talk concludes by demonstrating the compassion that the Prophet ﷺ will show in the akhirah and how his intercession will be accepted by Allah. The least of our responsibilities is that we send salutations to him out of respect for his sacrifices and concern for his ummah.
Below are some of the topics included in this talk:
    - The meaning of nasihah
    - The meaning of tahannuth
    - The experience of the Prophet ﷺ in Ta'if
    - The Prophet ﷺ frowning and turning away from Abdullah ibn Um Maktum
    - The Prophet ﷺ becoming physically and emotionally distressed when concerned about the ummah
    - The Prophet ﷺ not tolerating the suffering of animals
    - The Prophet ﷺ being compassionate towards his enemies
The interpretation of Abdullah ibn Umar's dream
    - The Prophet ﷺ visiting Abdullah ibn Ubayy
    - The concern of the Prophet ﷺ in the hereafter
    - The Prophet ﷺ praying salah all night, repeating only one verse

  • Love for the Prophet
    Love for the Prophet ﷺ
Delivered by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq on Friday 8th December 2017 at Al Kawthar Academy, Leicester (UK)
    Video: https://youtu.be/nOFJ2--KZ3g
It is part of complete faith for a believer to have love for the Prophet ﷺ to the extent that he should love him more than himself, his family and the rest of mankind. This love should not just be in a person’s speech, but should also be reflected in their actions and obedience to the Prophet ﷺ. People tend to make sacrifices when in love, often sacrificing the connection they had with others. The highest form of love is detailed in this talk as explained by Allah and his Rasool ﷺ.
Love for an individual usually means that a person loves everything associated to the beloved. For this reason a person should be careful where they place their love so that it leads them towards Allah and not away from him.
This talk finalises by showing how the sahabah went above and beyond their love for the Prophet ﷺ; not just loving him as a friend or a husband, but as a Nabi of Allah.
Below are some of the topics contained within this talk:
    - The sacrifices a person makes for love
    - Why should we love the Prophet ﷺ?
    - Love for the Prophet ﷺ being part of faith
    - Tasting the sweetness of Iman
    - The wives of the Prophet ﷺ loving him as a Nabi
    - Proof of love for the Prophet ﷺ is in obedience
    - Abu Dharr's desire to be with the Prophet ﷺ
    - A dua seeking the love of Allah and his Messenger ﷺ

  • The Prophet's ﷺ Triumph over Hearts
The Prophet's ﷺ Triumph over Hearts
Delivered by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq on Friday 16th March 2018 at Al Kawthar Academy, Leicester (UK)
    Video: https://youtu.be/QHPSmHBoNek
The Prophet ﷺ displayed the perfect example of showing softness to his bitterest enemies, inclining most of them to eventually embrace Islam. His character was not one of harshness and retaliation, but rather one of leniency and forgiveness. Those staunch enemies of Islam, whom Allah had revealed verses of the Quran condemning them, had their own families embracing Islam. This showed that over time many realised the truth of his message and could not fault his character.
This talk is replete with examples of many enemies of the Prophet ﷺ either embracing Islam themselves or their families later embracing; some even setting out with the intention of killing the Prophet ﷺ. The transformation of these individuals and their devotion to the Prophet ﷺ after embracing is also explained.
Find out how the Prophet ﷺ won over the hearts of many and remained true to his word throughout his life.

We may understand the purpose of our existence, but in practice it may be easy for us to become forgetful of our end goal. Allah has mentioned that we have not been created in vain and that we shall be returned to Him, but how do we maintain that level of consciousness so that we do not stray?

  • Fasting: Food for the Soul
    Fasting: Food for the Soul
Delivered by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq on Sunday 13th May 2018 at Al Kawthar Academy, Leicester (UK)
    Video: https://youtu.be/N-wDj2ysfso
Allah has commanded Muslims to fast during the month of Ramaḍān not for any physical benefit, but for the nourishment of the soul. A believer is restricted from nourishing their body during the day so that they may create a higher awareness of Allah. This element of taqwa is closely linked to ihsan - the worship of Allah as though one can see Him, or that Allah is watchful over him.
The body has been created from the dust of this Earth and will return to it. Its nourishment also comes from the soil of this Earth. The spirit, however, is from the heavens and therefore its nourishment has also been placed in the heavens. In this manner, believers divert their attention from their bodies so that they may focus on their souls.
Find out in this talk the spiritual benefits of fasting and how we can gain closeness to Allah by observing the fasts of Ramaḍān.
Below are some of the topics for this talk:
    - The importance of the soul
    - Worshipping our bodies
    - What does 'sawm' mean?
    - The unique benefits of fasting
    - The spiritual benefits of fasting
