I’m really happy to welcome Katja Takala to the podcast: a mum, ultra-runner, Ironwoman, and entrepreneur. Growing up in Finland, being active outdoors was simply a way of life, and running has been part of hers since childhood. I’m really excited to be joined by Gemma Hillier-Moses for this new episode. She is a pro ultra runner from the UK who’s made an incredible rise in just three years of trail running. We caught up right after her longest race yet at Chianti Ultra Trail, racing alongside some of the best women trail runners in the world.

So excited to welcome Shirin for a new episode. Her story begins in the mountains of Iran, growing up climbing alongside her dad, where she fell in love with adventure and the outdoors. Her connection to the mountains never left her and she kept it alive by leading expeditions back in Iran, becoming a climbing instructor and more recently, getting into ultra-running. Super excited to welcome Megan Boxall today! I catch up with her in the middle of a truly huge adventure, running the coast of Britain. She shares the preparation, work behind the scenes and the why for this journey, raising money and awareness for the Samaritans charity that supported her through her own mental health struggles.On day 95, she tells us more about the coast path’s views, adapting when things don’t go to plan, the joy of sharing miles with the running community, and how this experience has already changed her.

I’m so happy to welcome Trish Patterson for this first episode of 2026. She is is an adventurer, based in the UK who loves running and exploring in the mountains, and this December, she became the first person ever to complete a Winter Dragon FKT. It represents 370 kilometres and over 16,000 meters of elevation along the spine of the mountains of Wales.

This FKT is the result of years building experience, skills, and confidence, and we explore where her sense of adventure comes from, with curiosity as a starting point always. She shares more on her experience, how she imagined and organised it, and some key moments and challenges. We also discuss the importance of getting out of our comfort zones, and staying open to opportunities.

I am really excited to welcome Sabrina Pace-Humphreys to the podcast.
