Today we're talking about one of our favorite tropes. That thing where you're reading a great book only to find out that the MC's boyfriend, sister, cousin, friend was dead the whole time. We love a good twist ending, and this has been a pretty popular one in YA lately. We did our best to talk about the different ways we've seen this done well without giving away the names and authors because we'd hate to ruin a good twist for you.

A few weeks ago there was a surge of allegations of sexual misconduct in the YA and Children's lit world. We were disheartened to hear of it, and we decided to take an episode to process and talk about how we plan to respond to those who have been accused.

This is a fantasy trilogy by Lev Grossman that's basically like Harry Potter for grown ups, but Brakebills is a million times more satisfying and interesting than Hogwarts, especially if you grew up reading fantasy.
