What’s the best advice that your dad ever gave you? The following are from the Internet. You can do what you want, but never ever become a politician or lawyer. Never kowtow to anyone and remember if you’re going to have pets on the farm you need to be able to eat your pets. To stop worrying and anxiety, keep yourself busy. Everyone deserves to be trusted, but watch ‘em like a hawk just in case. Check the obituaries and if your name’s not there – get moving! Do the good things I do and leave the bad things behind. That’s how you build good future generations. If every generation does this, justice will be done to our family name. Always tell the truth – it’s easier to remember. There’s some good advice there.

The Holy Spirit will work in your life to minister grace and apply the Scripture section to your life. It’s from 1 Timothy 1:15-17, “This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: ‘Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners’—and I am the worst of them all. But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life. All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen.”

Someone wrote an article: Everything I needed to Know About Life, I Learned From a Jigsaw Puzzle. Here’s what they learned: Establish the border first because boundaries give a sense of security and order; When things aren’t going so well, take a break because everything will look different when you return; Working together with friends and family makes any task quicker and more fun; The creator of the puzzle gave you the picture as a guide; Don’t force a fit because if something is meant to be, it will come together naturally; Perseverance pays off because every puzzle goes together bit by bit, piece by piece; Finally, anything worth doing takes time and effort. One of the things that seems to be repeated in those observations is that when you put a puzzle together, patience is the key because if you’re not patient you’re tempted to force pieces in where they don’t belong and find yourself being increasingly unhappy even when you make a little progress.

The Holy spirit will minister in your life as you focus on the Scripture section from Colossians 1:10-12, “Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.”

Doesn’t it often feel as though things are out of control? When it feels that way, an overarching internal peace seems to be missing. Yet peace is something humans look for. It can be described as an equilibrium that balances out the negative with the positive. God talks about peace and in the Old Testament uses a word that describes it. The word is “shalom.” Shalom describes more than just a lack of conflict, but a contentment that’s rich and full. It’s the kind of life that God designed for you to have, even in the middle of a pandemic.

The Scripture section is Romans 8:5-9. God the Holy Spirit will give you grace to apply it to your life. “Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)”
