Cooking is one of my PASSIONS in life!! I love to cook and I cook fresh meals almost everyday. I am not a leftovers kinda gal and I HATE the microwave!! If I’m reheating leftovers, I’m air frying everytime. Today we’re going over how to get started: supplies you’ll need, tools available to you, and your grocery budget. If you’re eating out more than 3 times a week, you’re spending too much on food!! I challenge you to cook your favorite restaurant meal at home this week. It will be significantly cheaper, tastier, and easier on your belly! Are you a cook-everyday person, or a take-out person? What’s holding you back from cooking at home more?
So it’s been 7 months since I quit my job in Ohio and moved across the county to LA. We’re doing a little update on how I am feeling now and what progress I’ve made toward figuring out ~ who I am ~ . We are starting to making decisions and doing more of what we enjoy, and QUITTING what WE don’t! I am sharing some good advice from therapy and the beauty of quitting. Also, I had an interview last week and felt a little bit of impostor’s syndrome, even though I am QUALIFIED! Let’s talk about it, cause this Shit is Hard!! Tell me what ya think: Do you view quitting as a bad/negative thing? What is the worst case scenario if you pursue things you enjoy and quit things that you don’t?
Men deserve a clean house, a good meal, and laundry done. So how come NO ONE TAUGHT THEM HOW!!! I just realized that 60% of my listeners are men, so I am dedicating this episode to you boys. I have a theory that men are raised to be useless. No one teaches their boys how to cook, clean, or in general take care of themselves. Why is that? Parents, why don’t you want your boys to cook themselves a tasty meal, in their spotless kitchen, wearing their tidy clean clothes? Boys, you don’t know what you don’t know. I am not blaming you for that, but you can take some initiative to learn some things you should have otherwise been taught. I encourage you to watch some cooking/cleaning tik toks because you DESERVE a clean space and the ability to have one without relying on someone else!!!
Deciding when it’s time to go to therapy is Hard!! Let’s talk about it. We’re going over when I decided to go to therapy, mental health amidst the pandemic, and virtual therapy. And most important, prioritizing yourself. I mean, for real, how often do you do things that benefit you and ONLY YOU? I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, we all need to BE MORE SELFISH! Have you been to therapy? Do you struggle with prioritizing yourself? Either way, I’m here rooting for you and your mental health journey : )
LA GYMS SUCK! I said what I said. It’s either $200/mo and it’s actually clean but you’re on your own for parking. Or it’s $20/mo and there is no cable attachment or cleaning wipes in sight. Gym shopping is Hard!! I’m looking for a comfortable gym that’s cost effective and has clean equipment. In LA that is Hard to find. I am reminiscing about Kent State’s Rec Center … It was beautiful. Also, I had an interview at a gym in Beverly Hills last week, let’s talk about it!! What do you look for in a new gym? How do you like your gym?
I was voted MOST CHANGED in highschool!! I have changed so much over the years and growing up IS HARD :/ I brought a piece for show-and-tell today if you’re watching the video on YouTube. We are hitting on religion, politics, family, and overall feeling disconnected from your old self. But some things NEVER change, and for that I am grateful, cause this Shit is Hard :) Have you changed over the past few years? For better or for worse lmk ;)
Of course, after last week’s episode on ADULTING I got into a little fender bender :( So now I’m really learning about insurance. BUT I am also learning to KEEP MY COOL. We’re talking about emotional control, training your brain, and emotional regulation. Because losing your Shit is EMBARRASSING! So let’s keep it cool and handle our shit like ADULTS. We are NOT pushovers, but we are handling our shit as cool as a cucumber ;)
Why did no one teach me what insurance was?? Adulting IS hard, let’s talk about it. Being in LA, 2,000+ miles from my family, I gotta find my own dentist, doctor’s office, AND figure out how insurance works. And why is dental insurance and health insurance NOT the same thing!? Is there a reason learning these things isn't a part of high school education? It’s like they WANT to see me fail! I don’t even want to THINK about filing taxes or financing a car : (
Long-story-short, my car is not doing well and cost me A GRAND this weekend. Money is definitely Hard!! So we are doing big girl things and saving for a new car! I am going to be totally honest about money here, and talk about the financial help I’ve had. THANKS MOM AND DAD : ) But really, how much does general health and wellness cost? Can money buy happiness? Also, therapy is EXPENSIVE! Let’s talk about money and how it affects general health and wellbeing. Fair warning, they are doing construction next door and it got a little loud sometimes :(
You are the MAIN character of your own life! Sometimes we focus on what we can’t control and we get stuck. Shit we’re working on this week: focusing on what we CAN control and making choices accordingly! Here we celebrate QUITTERS! Girl, QUIT that shit that is no longer serving you! Hence my storytime Airbnb Lemon Grove, CA housing fiasco. This is not a “PicK yOurSElf Up bY tHE bOotSTrAps” episode, this Shit is Hard!
