Jesus was closest to the Father when He entered the wilderness.

Temptation is not proof that God has abandoned you. It is often the place where faith is refined and trust is tested.

Satan tempts us to grasp God's promises in our own way and in our own timing. Jesus did what no one else could—He trusted the Father completely and stood victorious over every temptation.

Because He became fully human, Jesus understands every struggle we face. He doesn't stand far away; He stands beside us with mercy when we fail and grace to help us stand.

The world teaches that authority is about power, control, and being served. Jesus turns that idea upside down.

What does it mean that Jesus is the victorious Son of God?

In Mark’s Gospel, Jesus is revealed not as another Caesar-like ruler who conquers through violence, domination, status, or self-glory. He is the true Son of God who brings God’s kingdom through self-giving love.

The cross looks like weakness to the world, but Mark shows us that it is the place where Jesus is enthroned as King. The crown of thorns, the mockery, the shame, and the Roman cross all become the moment where God’s victorious power is revealed.

A Roman centurion looked at the crucified Jesus and confessed: “Truly this man was the Son of God.”

The invitation of Mark is clear: let the cross reshape your vision of power, your priorities, your desires, and your life. Jesus is King — and His kingdom is found through the way of the cross.
