Ons het dalk grootgeword met ’n verstaan van bekering wat skuld, vrees en veroordeling oproep. Maar wat as bekering nie ’n straf is nie, maar ’n uitnodiging tot vryheid, heelheid en ’n dieper verhouding met God?

In Matteus 3 hoor ons Johannes die Doper se oproep: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Tiaan Scott herinner ons daaraan dat bekering nie net iets is wat ons een keer doen wanneer ons Jesus volg nie. Dit is ’n voortdurende uitnodiging om weg te draai van sonde en terug te draai na God se genade.

Ware bekering vra ook dat ons dit in gemeenskap uitleef — met nederigheid, kwesbaarheid en deursigtigheid.

Wat is daar in jou lewe wat God jou nooi om in die lig te bring en van weg te draai?

Bekering is nie die kleinlettertjies van die evangelie nie.
Dit is die opskrif.

In Mark 5 we see two desperate people—a respected synagogue leader and a woman who had suffered for twelve years. Both found hope in Jesus.

When God seems delayed, don't mistake His delay for His denial. Jairus waited while Jesus stopped to heal someone else, yet Jesus still arrived with exactly what Jairus needed. The story reminds us to trust God's timing, celebrate the breakthroughs of others, and keep believing that Jesus is still the victorious King.

"Just because it's not now doesn't mean God won't do it."

Jesus is still Lord over every storm.

The sea in Scripture represents chaos, fear, evil, and everything that opposes God's Kingdom. Yet in Mark 4, Jesus speaks only three words: "Peace. Be still."

The same Jesus who calmed the storm also conquered sin, death, and darkness through the cross. His victory wasn't achieved through power or violence, but through sacrificial love.

No matter what storm you face today, His peace isn't dependent on your circumstances—it is anchored in His rule.

Jesus still rules over nature, the nations, and every storm in our lives.

Jesus didn't begin by healing the paralytic's body—He began by forgiving his sin.

In Mark 2, Jesus reveals that our deepest need is not simply healing, but reconciliation with God. Sin traps us, shame distorts our identity, and we often try to fix ourselves through our own efforts. But only Jesus has the authority to forgive sin, remove shame, and restore us to our true identity.
