What if Jesus clearing the temple was not uncontrolled anger, but holy love in action?
In this sermon from Matthew 21, Melissa le Roux shows how Jesus’ judgment in the temple reveals the intentional heart of God. The outer court was meant to be a place where outsiders, the weak, and the broken could draw near. But religion had turned it into a place of noise, convenience, and exclusion.
Jesus clears the way.
The gospel is not just a ticket to heaven, a private comfort, or a set of rules to impose on others. It is an invitation into the kingdom of Christ — a call to yield our whole lives, pursue justice, confess sin honestly, and become people through whom others can encounter God.
When Jesus arrives, the children are welcome, the weak feel safe, and the sick are healed.
This is holy love. This is holy joy. This is the gospel embodied.
