  • Life beyond Oxbridge
This week I have manged to persuade Lucy Blain back on the Podcast! We discuss our experiences growing up with horses and managing school, college and being pushed into University. We both have similar experiences and realised throughout our time in school, that going to Oxford and Cambridge simply wasn't something we wanted to do, but were consistently told to have a successful career we'd need a degree. Hear more about how we both decided to chose different routes, and found what suited us best alongside our love of horses.Check out Lucy's blog and buy her new book! @cromwellandlucy

  • Is my horse too good for me?
Happy New Year! This week I wanted to focus on something I've battled with in the past, the idea of my horses being too good for me, or 'over horsing' myself. Which I have 100% done in the past! It can be hard not to listen to the negative comments, either from others, or the little voice inside my head. I know I'm not alone in this as others have told me they have felt the same, and have even considered selling their horse, thinking that they'd be best place with someone else that would do the horse 'justice'. 9/10 this simply isn't true!@shortstridesthepodcast

  • Road Safety Week with the BHS
This week I am joined by Alan Hiscox, Director of Safety at the British Horse Society. Road Safety is something I am really really passionate about. Alan shares all the fantastic work the BHS are doing to report road incidents, raise awareness, and working with other road use groups/ governing bodies to support the safety of horse riders on the road.Find out more about Road Safety Week -https://www.bhs.org.uk/our-work/safety/road-safetyReport an Incident with the BHS -https://www.bhs.org.uk/our-work/safety/report-an-incident
