Cellar Door Project was pretty hot and bothered to be bring their summer hit,  Talk to Me by Sean Meldrum to CFRC’s airwaves during the Shortwave Theatre Festival! Part love story, part talk radio show, this radio theatre play first premiered at FOLDA in June 2020. Talk to Me,  the only sex and dating radio advice show that takes…a’yah calls broadcasted LIVE in studio November 6 at 9PM. CFRC also simulcasted an ASL interpretation of Talk to Me produced by Deaf Spectrum.  That video is located here.

Talk to Me is written by Sean Meldrum and stars Mariah Horner and Sean Meldrum.  It is directed and dramaturged by Wallis Caldoza and features Maia Journeau, Nicholas Ramsubick, Erin Ball, and Kemi King.

On Sunday November 1 2020 at 9PM, CFRC 101.9 FM premiered The Philip & Lucinda Radio Show.  This fun radio theatre comedy performance was written and performed by Zita Nyarady and Myque Franz of Grand Salto Theatre.  This lovely gem features playful, physical & thought provoking performances through theatre, circus, clown, mask & dance.  Delivered in a classic vaudevillian style, this radio theatre performance was directed by Anthony Mann and sound designed by John Sanfilippo.

On November 1 2020 at 1:30 PM, CFRC radio listeners found out where the sound goes in this super sweet family friendly radio play The Sound Castle.  Sarah Emtage’s new radio play was the first play to air in CFRC 101.9 FM and Cellar Door Project’s Shortwave Theatre Festival. The Soundcastle is podcasted here for your listening pleasure.  This lovely piece is sound designed by Matt Rogalsky and ​Jeremy Kerr.  It stars Francesca Pang and Douglas Connors and is directed by Becky Bridger.

Kingston’s campus/community radio station takes on the Orson Welles classic! Narrated by Principal Daniel Woolf, and with a cast of dozens, this is a new spin on an old classic with a contemporary radio twist. Originally aired on CFRC 101.9 FM in Kingston, Ontario on October 30, 2018.

Locally reimagined, this radio theatre performance was adapted and directed by Ben Charland, produced by Mike Sheppard and stars Maddy Scovil, Graham Banville, Jason Erb, Francesca Pang, Bethany Knapp, Robert Downes, John Rose, Kim Sutherland Mills and Daniel Woolf.

CFRC rebroadcasted this production of War of the Worlds as an added program during the Shortwave Theatre Festival co-presented by CFRC and Cellar Door Project November 1st-7th 2020.
