Published July 2024. In this episode of "What's the Risk?" we look at a question from a concerned family member. A son-in-law has taken a look at his mother-in-law's portfolio and is shocked by the fees she's paying.

His mother-in-law isn't bothered, his wife doesn't care as long as the portfolio continues to cover her mother's needs, but the son-in-law has itchy fingers and thinks he could cut the fees and help out.

While this is a noble idea, it also presents several risks, but none of them financial. We look at the impact of fees on the portfolio, and then look at the potential issues if the son-in-law tries to take over.
