Jay is back in studio today with friend of the show and BAD ASS Muay Thai fighter from Calgary, Sean Newberry! Sean and I take our time to break down the main card of UFC 281 from both title fights to the absolute BANGER between Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler as well as the retirement fight for Frankie Edgar. We talk about Sean's roll in the Muay Thai World Cup 6 as a teammate instead of fighter, we also make our predications for the 2 upcoming One Championships events this week! as always, we have our Student O' The Podcast, Top3 and our Rapid shout outs. WOWWEEE! - what a weekend! Jay and Chris are back in studio frothing at the mouth to talk about the MUAY THAI WORLD CUP #6 which took place November 5th in Calgary. Their was a lot of anticipation for this one as we had 2 WBC Canadian title fights, 1 with a bit of history behind it in Tim Lo vs Markhaille Wedderburn and the other with Canada's hottest fighter right now, Jake Peacock vs the Ninja, Rich Pham! along with this we also had the HIGHLY ANTICIPATED 3 divisions announced for the 8-Man/Woman Road To One Championship tournament starting to take place in 2023 for a chance at a $100,000 mutli fight contract. It was an exciting weekend with amp'd up fighters, coaches, crowd AND COMMENTATOR (wink), it's so awesome to see Muay Thai just FLOURISHING around here again and we are so excited to be a part of it.

WOW DO WE HAVE A GOOD'R! - Muay Thai World Cup CEO Kieran Keddle has brought in another Muay Thai great for a seminar in Calgary and not only did Jay and Chris attend, But Jay was able to sneak in a quick podcast with the 2 time World Champ himself - Mr. Damien Trainor! this was ACTUALLY the very last thing he did before leaving to the airport, so I am very thankful for his and Kieran's time and efforts in making this happen. in our chat, I learned what it was like growing up and fighting on the same circuit together with Kieran as well fighting each other! we discuss the differences between UK Muay Thai and North American Muay Thai. we also get to hear about Damien's opportunity to work with UFC champion, Henry Cejudo among a ton of questions from Jay as he was like a kid with all the questions in this one! Jay has been a huge fan of the UK scene since the early 2000's so to get to sit in a room with BOTH of these guys and ask away for an hour is an opportunity we recognize not many get, so we did our best to take full advantage so we hope you enjoy the podcast.

THE DREAM TEAM IS BACK! - It's been a few podcasts since hosts Jay and Chris have sat and talked shop, but luckily their was lots of fights and events locally and internationally for us to talk about! To start - we want to thank Mr. Kieran Keddle for bringing in ANOTHER Muay Thai living legend in Damian Trainor! it's awesome to see him move live and in person than just on a screen (blessed!), we loved it. We had 2 - One Championship cards to go over with a few title fights AND upsets from both the Amazon Prime card and morning (Canada) event. Jason was at the Mike Miles Road To Glory show in Calgary on Saturday to watch local and international athletes including the 4-Woman international tournament with Canada's Maggie Tucker taking the win - CONGRATS MAGGIE! of course as we inch closer to the MUAY THAI WORLD CUP event we keep our excitement high and discuss the big night ahead. We also gossip the mega boxing fight that everyone wants but can't seem to happen as well as a "mega" boxing fight nobody wanted...

ON THE ROAD AGAIN! - Jay hops in his rental car for this one and hits the hi-way going south of Calgary to what used to be called the "fight capital of Canada"  Lethbridge, AB - the home of Progressive Fighting Academy (PFA) and former professional Thai boxer and now championship coach, Brad Wall. Brad and Jason were on the same fight scene as young pups ('99 - 2000) and have been hugely involved since, yet have never had the chance to sit and actually talk, till today! Brad shares his unique story as to how he found Muay Thai, how he ran into and was mentored under the great Sangtiennoi (RIP) while at the same time training beside the legendary John Wayne Parr! Of course we bring this journey right up to today where Brad coaches many Thai boxing and MMA champions including WBC Canada defending champion Cody Jerome and female rising star Kate Clements who BOTH have their eyes on the big prize  - WINNING THE ROAD TO ONE CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE MUAY THAI WORLD CUP! 

I've said it many times and here is 1 more. getting to chat with my peers of DECADES for the 1st time has to be my favorite thing about this podcast and Brad was no exception. SHOUT OUT TO YOU BRAD! 

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! - Today Chris and Jay are visiting Kyle "Bad News" Messenger at Elite Martial Arts in Calgary. Besides talking about Kyle's rematch with Eric Rocha on The MTWC 6 and breaking down the matches already announced - Kyle let's us in on the birth of the MUAY THAI WORLD CUP JUNIORS promotion that he will be the Captain of the ship for! Kyle breaks down what is needed for this to be successful across Canada all the way down to the individual effort to be put on to these shows and even fighting for a title. So Coaches, parents and athletes - if you ever dreamed of making it to the top of the Muay Thai and Kickboxing world from as young as 8 years old, well we have that path available in North America!

WE ARE BACK! - after a string of MASSIVE podcasts in 1 week,  we decided to let everyone catch up to the episodes. Today in studio we have Arek Thankachen from SILVERBACK MARTIAL ARTS here in Calgary, Ab. Arek is a long time martial artist involved in karate, muay thai and bjj over the last 30 years like my self in and around the city of Calgary, so it was cool to talk about old times around the same level of experience and age! We are coming off of another 2 day One Championship event and a BANGER of a local card here in Calgary hosted by WTM fitness and as Arek and I being huge fight fans - THIS WAS AN EASY ONE! haha. we breakdown the big fights from both One events including the controversial decision with Petchmorakot vs Tawanchai as well as breakdown our night at the fights on Saturday with local and visiting fighters from across Canada. WE DID IT! I really did believe this podcast was lost which in reality - CAUSED ME A TON OF STRESS AND ANXIETY RIGHT UP TO THIS MOMENT! haha, (sorta.....). Because OUT of studio today and on the ABSOLUTLY BREATHTAKING land of the Tsuut'ina Nation is the home of MMA fighter, Muay Thai combatant and boxing pugilist Zachary Manywounds! I have known of Zachary for a long time, but with the Tsuut'ina Nation being the home of the Muay Thai World Cup I have had the opportunity the get to KNOW him and finally the time has come to sit down and have a real chat about how he got into fighting - especially in 3 combat sports! We chat about where his obsession for fighting came from, a GREAT answer for a top 3 (new fighters do apply here!) as well as who gets under Zach's skin whom he'd JUMP AT THE OPPORTUNITY TO FIGHT! 

I can't thank Zach enough for inviting out to his home, I took being out on the Tsuut'ina Nation as very personal and privileged - IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE HONOUR SIR - oh yeah! FROM THE HORSES MOUTH! coming off of the HUGE announcement with One Championship as well as closer to home, the Muay Thai World Cup - everyone was buzzing and had tons of questions, WELL WE HAVE THE ANSWERS! in studio today again we have Muay Thai World Cup CEO Kieran Keddle, and he breaks down this UNREAL announcement and all the details surrounding how the Road to One will work, who qualifies and what happens if you win. BUT along with that, Kieran also lets us in on ALL SORTS of things upcoming from tournaments world wide, the upcoming MTWC, the return of the WBC youth games as well as another junior promotion coming around the bend! This podcast has ALL the information you were wanting (that can be told right now!) as far as all the upcoming buzz surrounding Muay Thai in Canada! WE ARE OFF TO THE RACES!   

WE ARE BACK! and boy is their some stuff to talk about. We had so much fight stuff happen this past weekend that Chris hopped out of the bush for 1 day he was so excited to talk about it. Obviously the big topic of this podcast was the BIG DRAMA SHOW this past weekend with the UFC including missed weights, changed fights on 24 hr notice, fights backstage, bad guys made overnight.... I gotta admit, I WAS TOTALLY INVESTED! and once the fights started, they delivered! which just put the icing on the cake with all the craziness, FUN! also, the 2nd big news -  we discuss the phenomenal news from OneFC bringing "One Lumpini" to the world as well as the Muay Thai World Cup CEO breaking the news that MTWC is bringing OneFC right here to Canada with their Road to OneFC! of course we talk the big boxing fight this weekend involving Canelo vs GGG for a 3rd time and a few other boxing results and gossip including the Gypsy King!
