Today we have my friend, commentary partner AND the owner of Calgary's newest Muay Thai gym - MR. KYLE MESSENGER!

Kyle has been busting his butt to get his brand new gym open for the summer - Victory Thaiboxing and Fitness! so naturally I had a TON of questions about how this dream came together AND SO FAST! - along with this we also talk about if Muay Thai will be in the Olympics and what we think it will take to happen, we also talk about the HIGHLY anticipated dust up with Liam Harrison vs Saeksan in September. And I ask Kyle the question "Dude, am I getting bord with One Championship?!" - we both give our thoughts!

WHAT AN EPISODE - once in a while, the politics of the Canadian fight scene enter the chat on the podcast *WHICH IS GOOD! THINGS DONT CHANGE IF WE AREN'T WILLING TO TALK ABOUT THEM* but the reality is, pretty much all of us are only guessing about what happens behind the curtain - at least speaking for myself anyway, and it's been 30 years for me on scene!

WELL NOT TODAY - I got to sit and chat with the President of Muay Thai Canada for 18 years, Mr. Robin Finley! I admit I was nervous because, well, POLITICS! but I really enjoyed Robin's down to earth chat, his realism and openness about some questions I've always had including - How is the IFMA team decided? why do we need commissions? and even the differences between organizations in Canada and how do we level up as a country?

Robin made it very easy and comfortable to ask questions I've always had (and I'm sure others too) along with simply sitting down and talking shop. you can tell I was a little reserved asking questions until I was comfortable, well I thank Robin for making me feel like I can ask!

What a great chat with a great guy! thank you for coming on the podcast and answer what i think of as some kinda sticky questions along with good conversation - I really do appreciate it and look forward to it again!

Today I went a little rover with preparation - saying that, today is just me rambling on the spot instead of reading notes. Today I let everyone in on my thoughts and feelings about the Muay Thai World Cup that happened on Saturday night as well as my thoughts on a few decisions.

LITTERALY - walking out of the ring after the final post fight interview, I learn the shocking result in the Haney/Gacria fight, naturally we have to being up that soap opera!

and after a LOT of thought (even maybe avoidance!) and back and fourth with myself - i give my thoughts on traditional Muay Thai vs new age Muay Thai - and if I think traditional muay thai is on the way out

It was a busy last Friday as a fight fan (at least in my neck of the woods) with a One Championship card in the morning followed by another in the evening, so needless to saying - I enjoyed my Friday!

We had 4 Canadians fighting Friday along with some MONSTER match ups that delivered including the tightly contested Superbon vs Marat Grigorian 3 for the interm FW World Championship and the return of the former bantamweight king, Nong-O!

We also give a quick congratulations to the "Pretty Killer" Iman Barlow on calling it a career inside the ring, and we give a tribute to a true, one of a kind fighting legend who passed away last week, Rob Kaman.

Welcome back to the MIGHTY SHOUT OUT PODCAST! today I get to chat with not just one of my favorite people in the Muay Thai world but one of the best, current Muay Thai trainers ON THE PLANET and friend of the show - Kieran Walsh from MuayU in Austrailia, here for round 2 of the Podcast!

I met Kieran 2 years ago at the WBC youth world games in Calgary where we did the 1st podcast (episode #37) and I have been a VERY CLOSE follower ever since. Now it's been a few years and I have had the opportunity to really watch and follow - I had A TON of questions as the 1st podcast was really an introduction. We chat about the unbelievable scene in Australia, Where/why North American Muay Thai is lacking AND succeeding. As well as talk about some of the great champions out of his gym and under his guidance.

I am a huge fan of how Kieran looks at life as well as Muay Thai and I message him often picking his brain. Along with asking for his opinion or knowledge, I am also privileged to call him a friend - what a great podcast again! SHOUT OUT TO YOU KIERAN!

Today - we have a chat over the computer with the current 2x defending WBC Canadian Muay Thai Champion, Tim Lo!

Tim defended his crown last year in 2023 on the Muay Thai World Cup vs Edward Mong of Ontario, April 5th these 2 will have a rematch on the newly formed and highly anticipated FightLife promotion in Edmonton. Along with talking about his upcoming tilt with a familiar foe, Tim talks about finally being able to fight in Edmonton for the 1st time in February AND in the wee 4oz gloves, what it's like transitioning from fighter to fighter AND father! We also spend a few minutes discussing why Tim doesn't have much desire to fight in Ontario!

This was a great chat with a great guy and a HELLUVA fighter!

We had ALL KINDS of fights going on last weekend including the highly anticipated AND DELIVERED! One Fight Night on Prime 19 featuring the Haggerty/Lobo world title fight - WHAT A ROLLER COASTER OF EMOTIONS. In the morning here in Calgary was the One Friday Fights 52 which featured an absolute BARN BURNER and possible Fight OTY candidate. I also chat about going to the Mike Miles event here in Calgary featuring athletes from Canada and the UK - it was awesome seeing all my friends, peers and local Muay Thai as well!

I also take a moment to pay respects and say good bye to a Canadian Marital Arts legend and Muay Thai World Champion, Ashley "AK-47" Nichols

Welcome back fight fans to the mighty SHOUT OUT PODCAST! I apologize for the absence as of late, between a few scheduling conflicts, car issues and illness - it was tough finding the time, BUT WE ARE BACK!

In this episode I try my best to recall the Rise of The Warrior event in Brampton Ontario which I commentated, the MASSIVE Superlek and Takeru world title fight and a few match ups on the event. I discuss the RWS also heading to Japan for their event which happened this morning featuring Rajadamnarn champion from Japan - Nadaka as well as RWS stadium and tournament champion - Lamnamoonlek, who is becoming one of my favorite fighters to watch and study!

We also have another BANGER of a One Fight Night on Prime this weekend with the main event pitting Muay Thai world Champion Jonathan Haggerty vs challenger Felipe Lobo!

and around the water cooler - their sure has been a few people voicing their displeasure with One Championship as of late including P4P king Chingiz Allazov, Liam Harrison and most recently Sage Northcutt. well, I give my opinion on this topic which is worth less than 2 cents - BUT YOU GET IT ANYWAY! haha.
