Today I got to sit and chat with what I believe is the man with the most appearances on the Muay Thai World Cup - Jay Davis out of the Airdrie Martial Arts center!. This is my first time getting to chat with Jay outside of fight nights so it was great to learn about how Jay got into Martial Arts and fighting itself. We discuss his quick rise through the amatuer ranks and now into the professional cuicuit, some of his performances on the MTWC, his 3 months stint training in the land of 1,000 smiles (Thailand) and of course - his big rematch with Deval Garvey on April 20th for the WBC Canadian title, and why he wants this rematch SO BADLY!

Right into 2024 we have a HUGE show in Brampton, Ontario - RISE OF THE WARRIOR FIGHT NIGHT! - promoted by Michael Fitzpatrick, the man behind Spartan Striking Academy. Mike himself is a multi time Muay Thai champion including the WBC MW champion and MTBSA World Champion, Mike is the East Canada MTWC representative and looking to take Muay Thai in Ontario to another level starting with Rise of The Warrior Fight Night January 27th in a BRAND NEW venue which you can tell, Mike is very excited about and STACKED the event with awesome fights which we talk about on the podcast including a few of the feature match ups.

We talk about the event itself coming together, Mike coming back to Alberta to tussle again on April 20th on the MASSIVE MTWC event as well as touching on a very heated and public rivalry with a fellow provincial fighter.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! for Christmas this year, I was up in Sherwood Park, Alberta - so I decided to bring my gear with me and I was lucky enough to sit with one of Canada's most active fighters and fastest rising names, Mahaliah Coniah and he coach, fiance and fighter himself - Jeet Bilkhu of WOLFHOUSE MMA in Edmonton!

We chat about life as a couple on an off the mats, where Mahalia finds the motivation to fight 7x a year including both east and west Canada as well as abroad in Italy all in 2023, all while both Mahalia and Jeet work fulltime outside of the gym hours they put in to make it happen. Upcoming early into 2024, Mahalia and Jeet first have their sights set on a dust up in the USA, but also let us in on REAL DEAL PROMOTIONS 2 HUGE Combat sports events in February and March! 2024 is going to be a big year for combat sports in Canada, I can feel it!

Welcome back fight friends to the MIGHTY SHOUT OUT PODCAST! Holy cow - do we have some fights to talk about! we had an absolute barn burner of an event with the One Championship on Prime having 7/8 fights go to a finish and the one decision fight being a candidate for fight of the year!

the last UFC of 2023 this weekend in Las Vegas has a couple key match ups - I'm not a big MMA guy, but the main event - Edwards/Covington, Shavkat/Wonderboy as well as Ferguson/Pimblett are definitly fights of interest for me personally.

The 22nd of December has a BLOCKBUSTER event on One Friday Fights! with the main event pitting superstar Tawanchai vs legend Superbon for Tawanchai's Muay Thai world title which is going to be bonkers, BUT SO ARE THE REST OF THE FIGHTS!!

Welcome Back to the MIGHTY SHOUT OUT PODCAST!

The Muay Thai World Cup finals on Novmeber 25th had the night end in a little confusion, some might even say controversy in the final bout for the One Championship contract in the 155lbs division. Earlier this week we heard from Daniel Kechego - the runner up of this tournament and he gave us his recollection of what happened inside the ring. I was lucky enough to be contacted by the referee of this bout the same day, Mr. Jason Jillain who expressed interest in coming on the podcast and explaining his position as well and why he felt that fight needed to be stopped. I am greatful that the SHOUT OUT PODCAST can help get the answers to the questions we all had the night including myself, especially fresh off of the event itself.

Along with being an official, Jason is a former WMC champion and DECADES long muay thai practitioner. So I took the opportunity to learn about how Jason found martial arts, where on the planet he's fought and what it's like seeing one, but TWO NEW GENERATIONS of fighters growing up.

I appreciate both of these guys willing to discuss this so openly to the public on the podcast - I'd love to have them both on again but maybe under different circumstances next time.
