we get to finish off 2024 with a DOOZY! today I got to sit with WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP trainer WILLIAM "PADMAN" MCGRIFF from Las Vegas! I first heard of Coach McGriff when he went and did a long stay at the famous Petchyindee Academy in Thailand! helping the team string together MULTIPLE wins and titles while he was there. Although I was already going to the CSA coaches clinic in 2019, when I saw Coach McGriff was a headlining coach there, I WAS STOKED, and he did not disappoint!

Today we get to talk about what it's like working at the Mayweather Boxing Club, his Journey to Thailand and what it was like working with a STRONG stable of fighters, making a working and active gym in his yard over cov!d, and what it was like guiding world champions to battle like Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney! - of course we hit Coach with a few top 3 questions which were FIRE

To say I was excited for this is an UNDERSTATMENT! I am unbelievably grateful for the opportunity and it was simply just awesome to chat with a boxing Guru with THAT MUCH ENERGY!

With Chris training Jake Peacock, it was a great opportunity to talk about what HE would like to see next for Jake as well as his thoughts on a Jake vs Saeksan dust up! (for fun?.....) - We talk about how the Russian fighters in One are having LOTS of success vs the Thai's as of late, we revisit Mike Tyson's bare ass on TV.... and we discuss Chris's new career path in Martial Arts.

WHAT A PODCAST!

Today I got to chat with former Muay Thai champion and the Promoter of the FightLife SEASON'S BEATINGS event December 14th in Edmonton, Mr. Mukai Maromo!!

I first saw Mukai fight in 2007 (which we discuss) and have been following ever since! coming off the last podcast with main event fighter of the event Dylan Stone, I thought it would be a good idea to chat with the man himself steering the ship for the event. Mukai not only talks about a few of the match ups for Seasons Beatings, but the reason and drive behind the ECL - now FightLife and what vision he has and is building for amateur Muay Thai in Alberta and beyond!

I've never had a chance to even talk to Mukai face to face and AGAIN - I'm thankful that the podcast has brought me to these amazing people in our community. THIS ONE IS ONE OF MY FAVES TO DATE! shout out to you Mukai!!

To finish off November we have Dylan Stone of Victory Thai Boxing on the podcast talking about his big WBC title fight vs familiar foe, Hassan Hikmatov! on the FightLife event "Seasons Beatings" in Edmonton, AB. This fight is a rematch from 2 years ago and both men have been quite active since then, I SUSPECT THIS WILL BE A GOOD'R!

Dylan talks about their 1st dust up and what he was learned from it to get ready for the rematch, Dylan also tells us about his introduction to Muay Thai, how he fell in love with it and his obsession with it till this day!

ALSO - Did you guys see the Muay Thai World Cup?!?! we discuss the pro card from what we can remember off the top of our heads, what it was like being there itself and of course - THE MANY AWESOME FIGHTS THAT WENT DOWN THAT NIGHT! I try my best to quickly breakdown a fight weekend I'll never forget!

man - if you are a combat sports fan, YOU HAVE ABSOLUTLY BEEN SPOILED THE LAST 2 WEEKS! of course we go deep into the Tyson/Paul "Fight" as well as the barn burner of a Semi main event on that card, but we also had a few big dust ups on One Championship 169 to go over, UFC 309 with the return of the mma GOAT - Jon Jones, a RWS super fight with UK superstar Joe Ryan vs new school legend Petchmorakot - theirs so much to talk about, I forgot about the Karate Combat event in Bangkok and the direct challenge to One! yikes!

Hello again Fighty friends!

I hope y'all had a fun and exciting Halloween! I dressed up as Luigi for the 3rd year in a row. Now we are into November, that means the Muay Thai World Cup is only weeks away and yours truly will be ringside bringing the action to the fight fans from the safe side of the ropes. BEFORE WE GET THERE - I was up at an event in Sherwood Park hosted by Arashi-Do Martial Arts, which is the home of WBC current and former Canadian champions Tim Lo and Derek Jolivette as well as WBC LHW contender Jerry Liu. ALSO, the podcast with Tim and Derek is called "2 champs 1 gym" (I wonder where I got that title....WINK!) but their's another champ out of ADMA Sherwood Park, and that's 2x, back to back IFMA jr WORLD CHAMPION Kobe Carr!

with these guys all in 1 room at the same time as me, I decided to being up my gear and make these guys feel guilty and convince them to have a chat with me! Kobe and coach Derek talk about living the IFMA experience twice and maybe what is next for Kobe. Tim and Jerry have a couple 1,2 title fights on the 23rd so we talk about their match ups, preparations for the fight and the MTWC on the other side of the country.

Side interviews and new mics are new to the podcast, but I will do my best to keep leveling up to bring you the best, most entertaining podcast I can - the SHOUT OUT PODCAST - the podcast for the people!

Today I got to sit down and talk shop with host of the Wellness Dojo Podcast in Calgary, the wellness ninja himself - Kyle Craik! Kyle is a long time traditional Kung-Fu practitioner and as I was/am a long time traditional karate practitioner, we often saw each other compete and coach and open style martial arts tournaments, but as is the theme of this show - another guy I've known for decades but never sat down to chat with till today.

It was refreshing talking the traditional aspects of martial arts including what a "dojo" means, the life lessons and growth that come with training martial arts and coaching 4 year old to 400 year old students. This was a great chat about MARTIAL ARTS and not just punch and kick, it was definitely a little awesome reminder of my martial arts beginning, to go back chatting about my roots as a martial artist, great conversation - SHOUT OUT TO YOU KYLE!

BUT TODAY - I have old school Alberta fighter and the head Muay Thai instructor of Alavanca Airdrie - Mr. Andrew Vandervelden! Today we talk about growing up the next generation of fighters, looking and starting an amateur promotion himself, the WBC Muay Thai Masterclass and of course, talking back in the day in Alberta.

This was my 1st time talking with Andrew, I really enjoyed our conversation and look forward to another promotion just north of Calgary. SHOUT OUT TO YOU ANDREW!

welcome back fight fight fans to the Shout Out Podcast! today we take another path on the podcast not so travelled, today we talk to the Vlad Goldenstein - the man behind South Paw boxing AND the WBC Cup happening September 22nd here in Calgary! although we did venture into amateur boxing, the boxing scene and some of the big names in Alberta and Canada - I also got to ask a question I only had the first layer of an answer for, "Why is Eastern Europe so much better than the rest of the world?" well, Vlad really let me into the system and the approach of boxing from that area of the world and I got a WAY better understanding of this topic!

I am always looking to learn beyond the punch and the kick and I got exactly that out of this conversation. I had a great chat with a great guy - SHOUT OUT TO YOU VLAD!

Today we go off the typical path of talking fights as I sit down with TJ Sheehan from Gloves not Guns here in Calgary!

Gloves not Guns is a program for young individuals grappling with life's challenges and looking for new a direction or focus in life - through structured fitness and boxing sessions mixed with life skills work, with the aim to break the cycle of crime and inspire positive contributions to society. I admit this is new territory for me and you can tell because I'm a bit of a bumbling sausage in this one..... I had so many thoughts and questions along with being genuinely drawn in by TJ story, I kept having marble mouth haha.

I am greatful for this opportunity to sit and chat with TJ! I never thought I'd be doing a podcast like this, but I REALLY do see a need for this, and I am happy to help how I can. TJ you are an ambitious and inspiring man and I think the work you are doing is BEYOND needed and important - SHOUT OUT TO YOU TJ!
