Rob is an old skool martial artist and fight fan as well as an old student of mine, you will hear Rob say in this episode "we have come along way!" and boy is he right. Rob is the reason behind our kick ass logo, shirts, website and more importantly - Rob has really been someone whom I've needed in my life as I awkwardly and anxiously try to reach some dreams and goals of my own outside of my comfort zone (this podcast for example) and when my mind gets wild, it's been Rob to bring me back to positive sanity. WHAT A WEEKEND - On Saturday night, the Muay Thai World Cup held their quarter finals AND first Road To One Championship and let me tell you, I have no idea how they are ever going to top what we witnessed on Saturday night! their were so many knockdowns and KO's its actually hard to keep track. Lucky for me I convinced Canadian Muay Thai standout and truly one of this countries best ever do it TAYLOR MCCLATCHIE to commentate a fight with me and even come into the studio to break down the card as well as talk about her path from start to being part of this 125lbs 8-woman tournament. I've known of Taylor and her dominant presence on the Canadian muay thai scene for YEARS! so I was pretty excited to get the opportunity to sit down face to face and nerd out about the 1 thing we both love - FIGHTING!

Welcome back to the Shout Out Podcast my fighty friends! - We are right around the corner from the big Muay Thai World Cup, Road to One event happening March 25th at the Grey Eagle Event Centre on the beautiful Tsuut'ina Nation just outside of Calgary. This event has had a HUGE buzz on the Canadian and North American Muay Thai scene since the fighters for each tournament bracket were announced last year. With only a short 9 days left, I got a chance to sit down with friend of the show and Muay Thai World Cup CEO, Kieran Keddle to discuss each match up in the women's 125lbs and men's 145lbs and 154lbs tournaments divisions! This event is going to be BIG! so let's start getting amp'd for what's surely going to be a night to be remembered in Canadian Muay Thai history!

GOOD DAY FIGHT FANS! - It's Monday and I am sure the talk around the water cooler at work was THE RETURN OF JON JONES! or at least it was at my water cooler at my house with my cat.. So in this episode we get right to his return to the UFC, but as a HW vs Cyril Gane.  Their's so much combat sports going on, I just thought it was time to get on the mic and keep the excitement going including the weekly RWS and One Friday Fights cards which are absolute FIRE!  as well as a sprinkle of some boxing including the Paul/Fury fight and some upcoming mega fights in boxing as well as Muay Thai. Just a lil fight talk for your week this week.

What a great chat with the Champ - SHOUT OUT TO YOU TYLOR!

YES!! we are back! 2 things to start: 1) in the intro I say Josh trains in Sidney, BC... no idea why that came out of my mouth, it is SURREY! and 2) my audio equipment was damaged going to Vancouver so theirs a few audio issues.. I talk about it in the opening of the podcast. BUT ANYWAY - the conversation is still AWESOME! 

I got to sit down, introduce my self and talk shop with the one of the best kickboxers to ever get in the ring from this beautiful country of ours (Canada), Mr. Josh Jauncey! as you hear in this podcast, Josh has spent A LOT of time as a youngster in Holland training under and beside kickboxing legend Andy Souwer as well as taking BIG fights there at early stages of his professional career at the same time. Josh also breaks down some of his time sharing the violent side of ring with not just the best kickboxers in the world but actually THE BEST OF ALL TIME! We also chat about what it is to be a REAL champion as well as his almost 20 fights under the Glory Kickboxing organization.  This I think is the 1st time doing a podcast with someone I have had zero interaction with, so I thank him for being willing to take the time out of his day to talk to a fight dork like me, what a cool cat!

WELCOME BACK FRIENDS! - On Sunday we got to sit down with Brooklyn from Elite Martial Arts in Calgary - the other half of the main event for the WBC Canadian Jr title fight which is going down on the Muay Thai World Cup Jr's event February 18th in Calgary. We got to chat about where his love of Muay Thai comes from, what this opportunity means to him to fight for a WBC title against a familiar opponent, as well as the people he looks up to inside and outside of the ring for motivation and mental strength. We also got to ask his Dad a few questions about what it's like being a parent of a youngster involved in combat sports and the drive, determination consistency needed from both the fighter and parent for dreams to become reality. But for me and more importantly, I was impressed with Brooklyn's awareness of teamwork and remembering where you came from and who helped get you there!  SHOUT OUT TO YOU BROOKLYN AND DAD!

G'Day fight fans!  - Friend of the show Kyle Messenger is hosting the Muay Thai World Cup Jr's event in Calgary on February 18th with one of the fights being for the WBC Canadian atom weight jr title! we were able to get one of the 2 contenders for that title fight to sit and have a chat with us - Tyson from Lom Pa Yu Calgary! Tyson tells us what it's like to be a junior fighter, training with legends in Thailand, his routine outside of the gym and how much he's looking forward to this HISTORIC fight for Canadian Muay Thai!

Along with this, we were able to have a chat with Tyson's Dad about what it's like having a child chasing a dream HARD in combat sports and the commitment needed to make this happen. This is the perfect time for this fight and I am so excited to see that their is a strap at the end for the victor! SHOUT OUT TO YOU TYSON! GOOD LUCK!

We had a shocking finish to the latest One Fight Night on Amazon Prime and a few last minute mix and match fights, again. One championship is also going to debut the One Lumpinee 1 event tomorrow and One Lumpinee 2 next weekend. Keeping One Championship in at the forefront, I give my initial thoughts on the shocking announcement of the One Championship $1,000,000 open weight tournament. we talk a lil upcoming UFC fights and gossip with the return of HW John Jones and the departure of Francis Ngannou.
