Show # 310: Author Jacob Donnenwirth on "An Officer and a Man"  On today's Coffee with Rich, we will be joined by former Marine Corps Officer and author, Jacob Donnenwirth.   Jacob Donnenwirth was born and raised outside of Utica, New York, in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. He graduated from Frankfort-Schuyler Central Schools and was awarded an NROTC Scholarship to the Rochester Institute of Technology. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, he commissioned as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps. Jacob served as an Engineer Officer for six years, and voluntarily exited the service as a Captain, having been a Platoon Commander, Company Executive Officer, and Company Commander. Jacob married his wife Alexandra in 2017, who is also a Marine and is still on active duty. They have two children, Ava and Nikolas.   After exiting the Marine Corps Jacob wrote the book “An Officer and a Man” on his experiences in the Corps. Jacob works part time as an instructor for Eagle Eye International Protective Services, and as a consultant for the US Navy teaching firearms instructors. Jacob has been a self-defense and combatives instructor for over 15 years, and a firearms instructor for 5 years, teaching a blend of civilians, military personnel and private security agents.    On today's Coffee with Rich, we will be joined by Mike Seeklander.     Currently Mike Seeklander is owner of Shooting-Performance LLC (www.shooting-performance.com), a full service training company and the American Warrior Society. Mike is also the co-host of The Best Defense, the Outdoor channels leading firearm instructional show.   Previously, Mike was Chief Operating Officer, Director of Training and a Senior Instructor at the U.S. Shooting Academy in Tulsa, Ok. He was directly responsible for the development of all U.S.S.A. training programs.   Prior to that as an employee of the Federal Government, Mike has served as the Branch Chief and Lead Instructor for the Firearms division with the Federal Air Marshal Service as well as a Senior Instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC).   He has extensive formal training and experience in all phases of military and law enforcement training. Mike is a highly sought after tactical and competitive trainer and a high level performer on the competition handgun circuit. Currently a nationally ranked competitor on the practical handgun competition circuit, Seeklander has authored/produced instructional books, DVD’s and has developed hundreds of lesson plans specifically related to basic and advanced firearms training.   As a local law enforcement officer with the Knox County Sherriff’s Department as well as the Knoxville Police Department mike worked in corrections as well as patrol and with the Organized Crime division.    On today's Coffee with Rich, we will be joined by Sarah Adams and Dave Benton.   Sarah Adams and Dave Benton worked together at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Their new book shares their personal, cold-case investigation into the attacks that occurred between September 11th and 12th, 2012, in Benghazi, Libya.   Sarah Adams was an Intelligence Analyst and Targeter with the CIA. She also served as the Senior Advisor to the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on Benghazi. Currently, she leads Department of Defense (DoD) research and development efforts to discover, incubate, and deliver innovative data-driven, technology-enabled solutions to answer complex national security challenges.   Dave Benton has over 25 years of experience serving in specialized teams and leadership roles in the military, law enforcement, protective security, and the U.S. Government’s Intelligence Community. He was a member of the CIA's Global Response Staff (GRS) team that responded to the September 11th, 2012, terrorist attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.    On today's Coffee with Rich, we will be joined by William Fraass. William Fraass started his career as 19-year-old Reserve Officer. He rose through the ranks to Captain, with his last assignment being Acting Chief of Police before suffering an injury that led to his medical retirement in 2023. William is the recipient of the United States Coast Guard's Meritorious Public Safety Award, the Sausalito Police Department’s Blue Star and Life Saving Medals, the Marin County Police Officer’s Award for Heroic Action, and several other awards/commendations. He is a graduate of the FBI's National Academy and holds an Associates of Science Degree in Administration of Justice, a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Education, and Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice specializing in Law Enforcement Management and Terrorism/Homeland Security.   In addition to this work on leadership, William authored an article on leadership for the Police Executive Research Forum’s January/February 2012 newsletter and instructed at the FBI’s Rocky Mountain Command College and the 2023 International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference.
