The prospects that life might exist elsewhere in the universe made headlines last week when it was announced that observations of the exoplanet K2-18b by the James Webb space telescope had revealed the chemical fingerprints of two compounds that, on Earth, are only known to be produced by life. The idea of panspermia, where seeds of life from other worlds may have hitched a ride on asteroids like Bennu and crashed into Earth, may be the key to how we were created, or that perhaps we are the alien life we are looking for.
