And over the years, the gaming industry has evolved from just being a distraction into something that reflects some of our times' most complex social realities. And now, a travelling exhibition that's made a stopover here in Istanbul is examining the intersection where games and politics meet. We sent Aadel Haleem to check it out.

When it comes to decorative arts 'craft' can be a tricky word. For some, it conjures images of pieces that are homemade by amateur artists and often mass-produced. But in London, craft is going high-end. The Saatchi Gallery is once again opening its doors for a prestigious, international craft fair they are calling "Collect." It features everything from jewellery to ceramics with the top works going for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Showcase's Miranda Atty brings us the highlights.

During the 1970s in New York, there was an underground sound climbing its way onto the streets. This new style of music was called hip hop. It came with its own set of attitudes, clothes and mentality. And it began being performed and listened to by mostly African Americans. This new form of lyrical expression was soon universally embraced. So now 40 years on, we look back at the birth of hip hop and how it evolved over the years.
