John McLaughlin has taken jazz fusion into weird and wonderful places. And the British guitarist is returning to his 1970s roots, by recording a new Shakti album. That's the legendary band he lead alongside Indian violin, percussion and Ghuh-tuhm players. But the ever prolific musician shows no sign of slowing down despite being 80 years old.

Depending on where you're from, actor Cuneyt Arkin is an icon of either the independent scene or the world of b-rated material. But either way, his success was unlikely. And in the wake of his recent passing, Alican Pamir wanted to revisit this career that was literally made on a shoestring budget.
