Istanbul Modern was founded as Türkiye’s first modern and contemporary art museum back in 2004. But its building wasn’t designed as an art space, instead, it was a customs warehouse. So the museum moved to a different venue until the building gained a more suitable futuristic and solid structure. Now it’s back at its original location and its architect says, this time it’s here to stay.

But those new stories are often related to ancient traditions, and historic places - just like the archaeological sites in southeastern Türkiye where life once existed around twelve thousands years ago.
