In today’s first segment, I talk about simplicity and the beauty and benefit included.
To illustrate what I mean, I talk about the simplicity of Rock n Roll. And let’s face it, any time John Prine and Jerry Garcia are mentioned in the same context, it’s worth a listen!
In the second segment, I talk about the importance of self-compassion and kindness so that we can be available to give these out to the people in our lives.
I hope you enjoy it!
Registration for my upcoming 8-week course on Mindfulness and Self Compassion is open!
Classes start next Saturday and I really want you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

Here we are! The moment we’ve all been waiting for!!!!
Well, maybe that’s overstating it a bit, but I am so excited to make this announcement!!!
And, please know that you are the first to hear about it.
I’m telling you, who has been with me and all my content for so long, so you will have the first shot to join this new program I’m offering.
It’s an 8-Week online course on Mindfulness and Self Compassion that starts next Saturday, October 16th. All the details are on this page here:

In today’s second segment, I share a personal story of the most beautiful experience I’ve had in perhaps my whole life.
I hope you enjoy it!
I am so excited to formally announce my 8 Week Self-Compassion course tomorrow!
For that reason, I wanted to get to some of the basics of mindfulness before we jump into a sea of self-compassion content for the next week as the program approaches.
In the first segment today, I talk about how mindfulness allows for a sort of third-person detachment that enables us to observe and note our experiences instead of being entangled in them.
And this leads into the second segment today where I talk about how mindfulness cultivates the vital life skill of critical thinking.
I hope you enjoy the episode today!!!
If you feel like you want to get some support in doing these practices, there’s a link below to schedule a call with me so I can guide you to the program that’s right for you!
If you would like to learn more about these practices I talk about, I encourage you to get in touch.
Some people are well capable of developing these skills on their own, but most of us need a little guidance, motivation, and accountability in order to stick with it long enough for the skills to take root as habits.
If you feel like you could use some coaching, your first session is on me.
In fact, I’ve already bought the first session for you!
All you have to do is claim it.

Coaching can be one of the most rewarding and life-changing experiences a person can have!
And I have several reviews to back this statement up. (you can read them here):

Today’s first segment begins with a trigger warning, as I discuss some details of my own childhood trauma and the cognitive dissonance it caused.
And I talk about how this cognitive dissonance created the most difficult and damaging choice I’ve ever had to make!
In the second segment, I talk about anger.
Specifically, I talk about how anger is a very beneficial emotion for us if we use it right.
Self Compassion and Mindfulness give way to the awareness that allows us to do just that.
I hope you enjoy the episode!!!

In today’s first segment, I talk about the concept of Lovingkindness and how it benefits us and everyone around us.
Of course, Lovingkindness can be developed through practice and I talk about how that happens as well.
In the second segment, I talk about how life is not an all-or-nothing game and how, with mindful awareness, we can always find a way to accomplish our goal while also being kind.
I hope you like it and I welcome any questions or feedback you might have!

We’re going old school today with the one-segment format!
But worry not, I managed to deliver the full 30 minutes and then some!!!
In today’s episode, I discuss a rite of passage I’ve just completed and I share the most valuable and important lesson I learned through the process: That this world is perfect and so are you:

In today’s first segment, I talk about something called the Attachment system we’re born with as humans and is a system that allows us to develop in the safety of a secure attachment to a caregiver.
In cases of childhood abuse, this vital system can be rendered inoperable, leaving the survivors of childhood abuse feeling alone to fend for themselves.
While this is tragic in and of itself, it becomes prominent again in adolescence and adulthood, as the survivor of abuse finds it difficult - often impossible - to form the genuine connections necessary for growth and well-being.
In this segment, I deliver the good news that practicing Self Compassion can go a long way toward compensating for this missing attachment system.
By the way, did you hear that I’m launching an 8-week Self Compassion Program in the next couple of weeks? More details to come!
In the second segment today, I continue on the topic of Self Compassion; this time discussing how practicing Self Compassion - especially in the form of a caring touch for ourselves - can trigger the release of Oxytocin, lowering anxiety and stress and allowing us to feel good.
I hope you enjoy the episode!

In today’s first segment, I talk about how we instinctively know that when someone is struggling it is not the time to bury them beneath a mountain of criticism.
Yet when we ourselves are struggling, criticism - the harsher the better! - is our go-to.
And in the second segment today, I offer some reasoning for why compassion is so vital to our well-being as mammals on this planet.
Also, in both segments, I talk about the 8-week Self-Compassion program I’ll be launching very soon. More on that to come!
Enjoy the episode!!!

In the first segment today, I talk about how life can present us with all kinds of challenges, big and small.
But when we move through it all with mindful, non-judging awareness, we can remain regulated and optimized for life through even the most difficult challenges.
In today’s second episode, I talk about a life lesson I’d just learned.
And I also give you a wonderful little practice that will help you develop intentionality and kindness in your life, making way for Heartfulness.
In both segments, I mention a new program that’s coming up on Self-Compassion. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Enjoy!

Over the years that I’ve been fortunate to coach people in mindfulness and compassion and watch their lives change, one curious misconception has come up many times.
The idea that in order to be mindful, we must move slowly (and therefore will be less productive in our lives), is purely false and nothing could be further from the truth.
In the first segment of today’s episode, I talk about this misconception and how to hurry mindfully whenever you need to.
In the second segment, I give you a hilariously frustrating example of how the confirmation bias shows up in our moment-to-moment experience.
I also discuss some of the other implicit biases we all have and how to work with those too.
Enjoy!
