Many people consider meditation to be a practice we do to make us feel better: to lower stress, relax our minds, and ease the tension in our bodies.
While these effects will often result from meditation practice, they are certainly not the only - or even the most important - reasons to meditate.
The far extreme of the idea of meditation for ‘bliss’ is something we refer to as ‘bliss bypass’
If you’re unfamiliar with the term Bliss Bypass, you’re going to learn something super helpful in today’s episode:
So how am I doing???
Please send me an email at [email protected] to tell me if you’d prefer shorter segments or fewer, yet more robust episodes. And you can include any other feedback you might have. Thank you!!!
Of course, the fear of failure will prevent us from taking chances, close down our vulnerability, and make us overly self-critical.
But in today’s episode, I give you another important reality associated with the fear of failure and I hope it resonates and inspires you:
Sometimes, getting into a regular practice to achieve this wonderful result is really hard. If that’s the case for you, it doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. It just means you need a little help.
The good news is that help is closer and perhaps more affordable than you might think. The way to find out is to attend a coaching session and see for yourself.
Even better news is that such a session is already paid for and awaiting you. Claim it here:

And now, to today’s content!
Many of us apologize several times a day without really knowing what we’re trying to convey with the apology.
For those of us with histories of childhood trauma, we might apologize for the way we feel; for expressing our emotions; or even for stating our needs.
Sadly, for all of us who do these things, we’ve been doing the apology thing all wrong!
The good news is that you can use the act of apology as an opportunity to practice mindful presence, empathy, and compassion (for yourself as well!)
In today’s video, I discuss this at length and offer some simple strategies for reframing the way you apologize to yourself and others:
Perhaps you feel like you need a little extra help with this work? If so, there’s no shame in that! And the really happy news is that help is available! In fact, you already have a coaching session just sitting here in my calendar, waiting to be claimed. There is no cost or obligation to this call, so you’ve got nothing at all to lose by clicking here to claim yours!
In today’s episode, I talk about how we grow up valuing self-esteem but how self-esteem abandons us in times of personal failure.
I hope you enjoyed that practice and get to use it in your daily life. If you feel like you need some help incorporating it into your moment-to-moment experience, it’s not your fault!
Making changes like this is hard and it can be very helpful to have a coach to assist you.
And it just so happens that you have a coaching session, in your name and all paid for, awaiting you. Click here to claim it:

We all have a baseline of happiness to which we return when the emotional reaction to an experience wears off.
When we get the latest iPhone, we experience euphoric happiness for a time but then the newness wears off and we return back to our baseline position.
Likewise, when we experience a loss of some kind, we will succumb to the heavy sadness as we reckon with what’s happened. But sooner or later this too wears off and we return to that same baseline of happiness.
Here’s the thing: this baseline is not static.
It is moveable. Meaning, we can elevate this baseline of happiness and well-being so that in the absence of anything ‘good’ or ‘bad’ we will dwell in lovely happiness and well-being.
The way to elevate this baseline, believe it or not, is through deepened awareness of the process of our mind. I explain it all in today’s episode:
Sometimes, getting into a regular practice to achieve this wonderful result is really hard. If that’s the case for you, it doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. It just means you need a little help.

It is said that up to 95% of the thoughts we have every day are not only automatic; they are repeated from the day before.
The thing is that our thoughts are the antecedents of our actions.
And we wonder why it’s so hard to make changes in our lives!!!
In today’s episode, I talk about this and I give a perfect, semi-formal practice to work with this automatic and repetitive nature of our mind:
If you’d like some ideas for intentions you can set each morning to take control and affect positive change in your life, I encourage you to take advantage of the free coaching session that sits in your name right now.

I hear so much talk these days about the need to be positive and eschew negative emotions like anger.
But even the eminent positivity psychologist, Barbara Fredrickson talks of the value of negative emotions in navigating the often turbulent waters of our lives.
I believe the key is in not judging the negative emotions as ‘bad’ nor the positive emotions as ‘good’.
As I say in today’s episode, the positive and negative emotions are more like the opposite sides of a battery:

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to be right.
This desire is at the heart of the human instinct to learn and grow.
What’s not necessarily a natural human instinct - and what may be far more damaging than beneficial - is the need to prove yourself right at every single opportunity.
In today’s episode, I talk about this and the amazing benefits of developing the skill to let it go:
If this is a specifically troublesome issue in your life today, there are things you can do (other than the practice I mention in today’s episode!) to overcome it quickly and effectively. Click here to book a talk with me so we can get you going:

Yesterday was a rough day for me and I did not get to record the daily podcast and video. I hope you can accept my apology by understanding what was going on.
I tell the whole story in today’s episode:

This session is already paid for! And I hope you can take advantage of this opportunity!!
Of all our implicit biases, the most powerful - especially for the victims of trauma and CPTSD - is the Negativity Bias.
This implicit bias is nothing more than your brain trying to keep you safe by noticing the negative aspects of your experience more than the positive.
The trouble begins when we start to believe that our lives are filled with more negative than positive experiences.
In today’s episode, I talk about how awareness of this bias, and the neutralization of it, can happen through practicing gratitude:
I hope you enjoyed the video and I hope you get to try the practice I described!
