I’m really excited. For my upcoming Group meeting in Zurich, I volunteered to prepare a Communication workshop for my colleagues at HQ and my boss supports this! So I’m putting some points together to prepare for this workshop. My team are highly senior experts in Finance and Business Intelligence and they are very good at what they do, but can be very technical so it is a challenge for them to “sell” and engage with stakeholders - so I’m preparing this workshop from this angle. I don’t expect them to become TED talk speakers after this but it should help to share some tips and techniques to step out of their shell to be more of a salesperson and leader. Communication is key: Some tips. 1. Establish an agenda. What is your objective? Know your purpose upfront and let others know. 2. Know your Audience. Who are you speaking to? What are their needs? How will they benefit from what you will say? 3. Go straight to the point. Cut out unnecessary details. 4. Keep emotions in check. Don’t bring in your emotional baggage into the meeting. 5.
