Kerryn Ashford-Hatherly
Kerryn who founded Ashcliffe Psychology and the Matrix Program®, possesses over 30 years of extensive experience in the mental health field, specialising in addiction since the late 1990s. Her expertise has expanded to include working with trauma, PTSD, and many diverse roles.
Kerryn became interested in the Matrix Model intensive outpatient addiction treatment several years ago when she recognised a gap in services in Western Australia for an alternative to residential addiction treatment. It had become apparent clients were wanting to continue working and living with their family as well as enter addiction treatment. However, they required more support than that which individual psychological treatment could offer.
After researching treatment options, in particular for stimulant use, Kerryn came across the Matrix Model which had over 30 years of encouraging research documenting the treatment outcomes with an intensive long term intervention program. In 2016, Kerryn went to the USA to the Matrix Institute, and became trained to Supervisor level in the Matrix Model. In 2017, Kerryn joined with her colleague and co-director Michael Tunnecliffe to start Ashcliffe Psychology and provide the Matrix Program®, which is an adapted version of the Matrix Model.
