On this episode, Joy talks shutdown politics with Ohio Rep. Joyce Beatty, Democratic Strategist and Protect Our Care’s President Brad Woodhouse, and three directly impacted federal workers and union representatives Brent Barron, who reps workers at the Department of Labor, LeShanda Palmer, who reps workers at the TSA, and Everett Kelley, the national president of the American Federation of Government Employees, which is the largest union representing federal and D.C. government employees.
In hour two of the show, Joy breaks down the Trump regime's war on blue cities and threats to unleash "plenary power" over the entire government, Pam Bondi's rude, lawless performance at the U.S. Senate, and the escalating occupation of Chicago. We meet Illinois State Senator Graciela Guzmán. Joy then unveils her 2016 interview with J.D. Vance on her MSNBC show AM Joy, and additional clips from his TED Talk the following year, that reveal how much his views have shifted. We end with a moment of joy: the debut of the new, four-member Native Land Pod, featuring Tiffany Cross, Angela Rye, Andrew Gillum and the "Beyonce of the quad," Bakari Sellers.

She was a national correspondent for MSNBC and is best known for hosting the Emmy-nominated, NAACP Award-winning political commentary and analysis show, The ReidOut, from 2020 to 2025.
