Hey y’all, welcome to Sick of this Shitpod and I’m Nick, your host. Today is episode 19 — as community makes.

This is the next in the collection on education as SCOTUS, the Trump regime, and Project 2025 attempt to destroy the Department of Education and leave us in the dark. The last poem, we spiral down, ended on an uplifting note.

* The pod:

* The poem:

This one picks up right where we left off and after spiraling down into the dark, we begin in ascent towards the light. What other choice do we have? I will not give up on my children. I won’t give up on yours either.

Hey y’all, welcome to Sick of this Shitpod and I’m Nick, your host. Today is episode 18 - we spiral down.

This is the second in a new collection on the SCOTUS decision to allow the Trump regime to dismantle and close down the Department of Education — without the legal or Constitutional authority and from a decision made on the “Shadow Docket”. This is how democracy dies, in darkness and dumbing the people down. Resist. Dissent. Peacefully push back. We’re in this together.

Great reporting coming out from Dean Blundell on GardaWorld providing security guards for the Florida based death camps. GardaWorld is a Canadian company, based out of Montreal. What the fuck are we doing contracting Canada’s Blackwater? What the fuck are we doing with death camps?

This really sucks. Stop giving fascists platforms.

If you are a member of the Carnegie Mellon University community — staff, faculty, alum, graduate, undergraduate, and other — please sign this letter to President Jahanian and Provost Garrett voicing our displeasure and deepest concerns over allowing a fascistic, anti-Constitutional prick to attend the Energy and Innovation Summit. You had the choice not to — you did it anyway, knowing how destructive and dangerous Donald Trump is. You did it anyway and showed complete disregard for the entire CMU community.

Hey y’all, welcome to Sick of this Shitpod and I’m Nick, your host. Today is episode 16 - big win. This one is the second in the “collection of wins” and is really special to me. Thanks the the hard work, organizing, and activism of people like Fred Wellman, Kristofer Goldsmith, The Ken Harbaugh Show, and so many others for stopping the flood of VA providers being pushed out. You’re efforts are giving us hope to keep moving towards the next thing—a big win. As I said last time, “a small win leads to sustained wins, sustained wins lead to big wins, big wins lead to progress, and progress leads to huge wins.” We’re still at step 1 and this is a whimsical call to reach towards steps 2, 3, and more.
