This really sucks. Stop giving fascists platforms.
If you are a member of the Carnegie Mellon University community — staff, faculty, alum, graduate, undergraduate, and other — please sign this letter to President Jahanian and Provost Garrett voicing our displeasure and deepest concerns over allowing a fascistic, anti-Constitutional prick to attend the Energy and Innovation Summit. You had the choice not to — you did it anyway, knowing how destructive and dangerous Donald Trump is. You did it anyway and showed complete disregard for the entire CMU community.

Hey y’all, welcome to Sick of this Shitpod and I’m Nick, your host. Today is episode 16 - big win. This one is the second in the “collection of wins” and is really special to me. Thanks the the hard work, organizing, and activism of people like Fred Wellman, Kristofer Goldsmith, The Ken Harbaugh Show, and so many others for stopping the flood of VA providers being pushed out. You’re efforts are giving us hope to keep moving towards the next thing—a big win. As I said last time, “a small win leads to sustained wins, sustained wins lead to big wins, big wins lead to progress, and progress leads to huge wins.” We’re still at step 1 and this is a whimsical call to reach towards steps 2, 3, and more.

This is how you fold and let fascism take hold. You legitimize them and destroy your own values in the process.
Fuck you Carnegie Mellon University for allowing Trump to attend your Energy & Innovation Summit.

Hey y’all, welcome to Sick of this Shitpod and I’m Nick, your host. Today is episode 17 -education’s demise.
This is a sonnet to SCOTUS, to go fuck themselves, for enabling the destruction of the Department of Education. The only institution that guarantees a free and equal education for all of our children. This is a purposeful attack to dumb us down and make us easier to control. I dissent. My children, like every other, deserve an equal chance at success.

Hey y’all, welcome to Sick of this Shitpod and I’m Nick, your host. Today is episode 15 - small win. This one is the start of the “collection of wins” and is really special to me. Thanks the the hard work, organizing, and activism of people like Fred Wellman, Kristofer Goldsmith, The Ken Harbaugh Show, and so many others made a dam in the river and stopped a flood of VA providers from being forced out. This is a small win in the long run, but a big win for now. It energizes us and gives us hope for the next. A small win leads to sustained wins, sustained wins lead to big wins, big wins lead to progress, and progress leads to huge wins. We’re at step 1 and this is a whimsical call to get us going to steps 2, 3, and more.

Hey y’all, welcome to Sick of this Shitpod and I’m Nick, your host. Today is episode 14 - oath under lies. This one’s part 3 of the “collection of lies” and a continuation of our two previous episodes and poems—filing lies and lies under oath. Continuing our whimsical theme to lighten the mood while (alleged) perjury takes place on a massive scale—this is inspired by all the Epstein file stuff, but fits will pretty much the entire theme of this “presidency”—lies, lies, and oh wait, more lies. Continuing our call to action to shine a spotlight brightly on whatever it is this regime is doing so everyone can see. Keep on keeping on friends, we’ve got a long way to go.
Check out the other poems in the collection of lies series:
* Part 1: E12 - filing lies
* Part 2: E13 - lies under oath
And extending the series soon is the new installment:
* Part 4: failing, flailing, faltering lies

Thanks for a great conversation and hopefully a useful bit of wisdom. Do not lose your empathy, for that is a basis of our humanity. This effort to control and destroy is an effort to remove empathy from the equation. It’s to make the perfect, unfeeling automatons needed for the society envisioned by Peter Thiel, JD Vance, Elon Musk, and so many others.
What gives us strength and joy is our empathy and ability to care.
