Did Ohio State just have the best 4 game run in College Football history? It sure seems like it. Two blowouts, a hard fought win vs Texas and a National Championship later, the Buckeyes find themselves back at the top of the CFB mountain.

Ryan Day deserved all the criticism when they lost to Michigan less than two months ago....but now deserves all the credit and praise for turning this season around. Truly a remarkable turnaround for Ryan Day, his staff and the players.

The Buckeyes find themselves back in the National Championship game after closing out the 4 quarter against Texas. Despite a bad performance by the offensive line, a poorly timed Will Howard interception and minimal production from Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State leaned on their other stars to carry them to victory.

The Fighting Irish move on to the National Championship Game after defeating Penn State 27-24. Marcus Freeman deserves A TON of credit here. He got his guys right after halftime and what we saw was 24 second half points (17 in the 4th quarter), a turnover and the game winning kick!

As for Penn State....this is the most "James Franklin" loss ever. Beating SMU, beating Boise State, then losing yet another close, talent equated game, that has to be brutal for Penn State fans.

Notre Dame has the slight edge here

I think they'll find some success running the football, but more importantly have a defense that is flying around the football. 

Penn State will rely on their talented RB duo, but will also heavily target their star TE Tyler Warren. Imagine Xavier Watts and that ND defense covering him. That's one of the biggest matchups in this game. 

Marcus Freeman had a great call on that late punt in the Georgia game, where I think he out coached Kirby Smart. He might do the same here with James Franklin. And Penn State only had SMU and Boise State to get them ready for this game.

This game is all about matchups, and the matchups favor the Buckeyes.

Sure, Texas has a great secondary and front four, but Ohio State has the best receivers in the country and OSU's offensive line have gone up against many other talented fronts before (Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, Oregon x2). Also, Jeremiah Smith is unstoppable. 

On the other side of the ball, Ohio State's defense is peaking at the right time. Quinn Ewers and that offensive line will not find much success against Caleb Downs and the Buckeye edge duo of JT and Jack Sawyer.

Ohio State is back to being the hottest team in College Football after a dominant Rose Bowl win over Oregon. The Buckeyes went up 34-0 in the 2nd quarter and never looked back. They will now travel to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas to play Texas in the semifinals and if this OSU team continues to play like this....then no one can beat them.

After giving us a thriller in Eugene earlier this the year, Ohio State and Oregon go at it again in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff. Two of the most talented teams in the country (maybe the two best teams in the country) will play in the Rose Bowl. This feels like a National Championship!
