The Sierra Hotel Echo team discuss the phenomena of women in the military having angst towards other women. Sometimes they are the first to be critical and judgmental, then tear down their sisters in arms. We want to change that here at Sierra Hotel Echo!

Savanah, a former Marine Corps legal assistance joins the show this week to talk about the coined termed that female Marines have created for this phenomena. “Pick Me Ass Bitch” is when a woman tries to be accepted by her male counter parts by endorsing their male-centric views that may act against her own interests and/or throw another woman under the bus whether that be a particular woman or women as a whole using stereotypes to demean her sisters.

Also, this week the team highlights Alexandra Weir as the honorary Sierra Hotel Echo Women of the Week! Alexandra is a Marine Corps Sergeant who is not letting stereotypes deter her from her dreams of coming a Special Forces operator. From ballerina to Marine Corps, she is resilient beyond words! Are military members being trained on human trafficking correctly? What does it actually look like in common day practices? The Sierra Hotel Echo team investigates it further to answer those questions and to figure out if the military community exacerbate this issue further.

In this episode we continue to discuss Human Trafficking in hopes to find if and where military culture exuberates the problem of human trafficking. In part I, the human trafficking experts both openly admitted that, in their professional opinion, there was no possible way for ethical sex work to exist without individuals being victimized. Kaitlin speaks with providers and consumers to find out if that is true. She speaks with a former Marine who admits to hiring up to 30 sex workers, an exotic dancer, and a former sex worker who is now serving on active duty in the Air Force.

Are we being trained on human trafficking correctly? What does it actually look like in common day practices? The Sierra Hotel Echo team investigates it further to answer those questions and to figure out if the military community exacerbate this issue further.

The team speaks with Kara from Deliver Fund, who is non-profit organization that equips, trains, advices law enforcement on combatting human trafficking. They use the methodology used for counter terrorism that hunts down potential terrorists and uses it by searching online for sex ads to identify potential trafficked victims and traces it back to their trafficker and hand delivers the intel to law enforcement. Additionally, they speak with Private Investigator, Justin Yentes who tells the gory details of human trafficking cases he has worked on.

This week, Dr. Nikki Dority joins the show to discuss her time in the U.S. Army as a medical officer and how it framed her future to serve her community once more after she left the army. Afterwards, she became a women's health physical therapist and explains all what the speciality entails and what everyone should know about the pelvic floor, trauma, and overall physical health.

Nikki then goes on to explain her newest and greatest endeavor -- creating a community health center that is a place for healthy people to go to stay healthy. She goes on to explain that watching the medical industry from the clinician perspective evoked an idea of needing another, better way for patients to access health services that didn't require them to be sick to begin with.
