So far, Monsoon 2023 has been a fairly calm season. The US National Weather Service had predicted that this year's Monsoon season was likely to see below-normal precipitation for most of Arizona along with above-normal temperatures throughout July and August. So far, those predictions have been correct. While most of northern Arizona has seen some rain at this point, most of the area is still below average for the monsoon season so far. In Prescott, the average normal rainfall is about 3 inches, so far this year we a little over 1.5 inches while Flagstaff has seen just under 1.5...

Inspiration Apartments at Cottonwood will open Phase I for occupancy within the next month. Three thousand American flags will fly for the 11th year on Sept. 8-15, 2023, during Patriot Week at the Prescott Valley Civic Center. In 2012, Yavapai County Dist. 5 Supervisor Mary Mallory, then a PV council member, spearheaded an effort to bring a Healing Field to the community to honor the lives lost in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. That year, 1,200 flags flew at the Civic Center grounds. The community rallied behind the effort, and in 2013, 3,000 flags filled the grounds, and have flown there every year since. Progress continues on the Glassford Hill Road enhancement project. Crews are expected to shift the work zone to the inside left lane north of Lakeshore Drive to Main Street (northbound only). Drivers will be limited to one lane, minimal impacts are expected. The intersection at Lakeshore Drive and Glassford Hill Road will reopen when the new work zone is in place.
