The cast of Five Days at Memorial came together to showcase its first episode at the premiere for AppleTV+. We spoke with Adepero Oduye, Carlton Cuse, Cherry Jones, Cornelius Smith Jr. , Julie Ann Emery, Michael Gaston, Molly Hager, Robert Pine, Sheri Fink, and W. Earl Brown. While the cast was excited to talk about the show, most focused on the hardships that many faced during Hurricane Katrina. The focus was to make sure this project was not only accurate, but really brought the audience inside of the hospital to try to get an idea of what it was like during the disaster with seemingly no help. This project was a labor of love and one that they were all happy to bring to AppleTV+ viewers.

Natasha Calis spoke with Silence on Set about how being on SkyMed was a very different filming experience for her. Not only did Calis have to learn medical training (some of which she picked up from prior jobs), but then she had to immerse herself into what her character Hayley goes through from the second she walks into the ring as a medical professional all the way through her transformation towards the end of the season. Calis discusses the importance of strong women, chemistry with her co-stars, and respecting the Indigenous communities -- all while shining a light on the unrepresented. Calis shows off some of her best work in this show and really put her all into it.

Praneet Akilla, who plays Chopper on SkyMed, came by to talk about those crazy cliffhangers from season one. While I was manifesting a renewal for season two, Akilla reflected on why he thinks there is a little bit of Chopper in everyone and how much he appreciates what the show has done to highlight the need for resources for first responders (specifically those that work in the air in remote conditions), but also the importance of showing love to the land and the native people living there. Akilla was one of the nicest people to interview. He also has a short film called Mom vs Machine that is currently showing at HollyShorts. You can buy a ticket to see it here: https://www.hollyshorts.com/attend. Make sure you also check out all of SkyMed, which is currently available for streaming on Paramount+
