Then we cover a boisterous Peter Boyle in 1970’s Joe about a blue collar racist and a wealthy man who may have more in common than it first seems.

The first is 2009’s Merantau, a story about a young guy on a spiritual(?) journey to Jakarta only to find himself in the middle of a human trafficking ring.

The we cover a crazy 2003 film from crazy Tony Jaa – Ong Bak: The Thai Warrior… another film with a small village guy in over his head in the big city, this time with our hero travelling to retrieve a sacred, historic village element.

Get ready for kicks, knees, and elbows galore!

First we dive headfirst with two pistols in hand into an earlier John Woo film, A Better Tomorrow from 1986. Neither of us has seen it, and both of us have issues with a Woo staple The Killer, that most people adore. What will happen with this??

Then we cover a film from 1987 directed by Ringo Lam called Prison On Fire. How will it hold up to American prison films?

Next we cover a film that Loaf was embarrassed to say he had never seen… 1973’s American Graffiti. Pre-Star Wars Lucas!

Welcome one and all to an episode that did its best to kill the spirits of Loaf and Zom. Zom even found himself self-medicating beforehand. Cinemasochist Justin from the Freakin’ Awesome Network picked two doozies for us this week.

First we review a film with two of Zom’s all time most hated actors: Reese Witherspoon and particularly Mark Wahlberg. That film is 1996’s Fear. Zom’s documentary of his viewing of this film could have been called Anger.

Next we tackle a film that Loaf hated back in the day but had high hopes for again after learning more about Paul Verhoeven since then… Showgirls from 1995!
