Reaction in Raider Nation is mixed as the Las Vegas Raiders sign Jimmy Garoppolo as their new starting QB on a team-friendly contract. The deal, laden with incentives for the oft-injured signal caller, will help the Raiders retain flexibility as they rebuild their defense. We talk about why they might not be done with the QB position as the NFL Draft approaches. Hosts Scott Gulbransen and Moe Moton also break down other Las Vegas needs in free agency and potential targets this week. They close the show talking about the Aaron Rodgers trade and where Lamar Jackson will end up.
Well, it's not Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers or Lamar Jackson...but the Las Vegas Raiders found their new QB: Jimmy Garoppolo. The former 49ers quarterback signs a 3-year, $72.5M deal with Las Vegas. Reaction to the signings is mixed, and it might not be sexy, but it is a $20M savings per season over Derek Carr. But don't count the Raiders out when it comes to drafting a rookie this season... say Moe and Scott.
Scott and Moe talk about other free agents the Raiders could pursue for the remainder of the week. With needs all over the defense, expect them to be in on some key names that are left over the next few days. Moe and Scott give you some names to watch out for.
Scott and Moe close the show by talking about the rest of NFL free agency and the Aaron Rodgers trade. The guys also both say they believe Lamar Jackson will end up playing for one team and one team only.
