Silver and Black Today

We kick off Hour 2 live from the Las Vegas Raiders worldwide headquarters in Henderson talking with CBS Sports NFL writer Bryan Deardo. Deardo talks about the state of the AFC West and where the Raiders factor in a division that's been recently dominated by the Chiefs. We also talk to Deardo about why he (and we!) believe the late Cliff Branch is by far the best NFL player currently not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. We close talking to Vinny Bonsignore about the AFC West competition and how it shapes up for the Raiders in 2021.

We're back for our final week on Raider Nation Radio and host Scott Gulbransen welcomes guest co-host Hondo Carpenter. The guys talk about the available free agents on defense who fit the Raiders and how the team must address offensive tackle as well.

Scott and Hondo start out Hour 2 talking about Derek Carr's future with the Raiders and why fans better get used to seeing No. 4 under center for the foreseeable future. Sam and Ash stop by and talk the return of live sports to Las Vegas and how the area needs to go big and try and secure a Formula 1 race.

Friday's show starts off with a big announcement from host Scott Gulbransen. Then, Scott and Dmon talk through today's new batch of free agents who became salary cap casualties around the NFL and whether or not any of them make sense for the Raiders. Scott thinks one big name doesn't and another does.

We roll into Hour 2 of Friday's show talking with Yahoo! Sports NFL writer Eric Edholm who schools us all on the ins and outs of the NFL salary cap for 2021. Why did it go down? By how much? And...what does it mean for the Raiders next season and beyond. We continue the salary cap convo with Vinny Bonsignore who tells us the players "borrowed" millions this season to keep the salary cap at $180 million vs. $160 million which is what team owners preferred.

The Raiders made their first free-agent signing on the defensive line today - sort of. We'll tell you who they signed. Also: host Scott Gulbransen, and co-host Evan Groat, welcome Nick Cothrel who runs through Silver and Black Today's first 2021 Raiders 7-round mock NFL draft. Will they go defense? Or will an offensive tackle be high on their list as they pursue high-profile free agents on defense?

Hour 2 starts off with Scott and Evan talking about the Raiders offense. There's no question the biggest priority - and weakness - of the team is the defense. Yet there are question marks on offense too. How do you bolster the offensive line? How will you replace Nelson Agholor at WR if they can't resign him? Plus, Vinny joins us to talk about the delicate situation when it comes to the Raiders salary cap situation. They're going to have to say goodbye to good players and figure out a way to free up money to build that defense in 2021.

We kick off our Wednesday Raider Nation Radio show talking about the latest news from Raider Nation and the NFL. Marcus Mosher of Raiders Wire is our guest and we talk to him about what it will take to fix the Raiders porous defense. Can Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock fix it in one off-season? The guys say maybe but there are far more issues than you think. Plus: what about the Raiders' offensive line questions? We discuss what should be a busy offseason.

The Ringer's Kaelen Jones joins us in Hour 2 to talk about the Las Vegas Raiders Marcus Mariota and how he could be the real wild card in the wacky NFL quarterback carousel this offseason. Jones says Mariota's value could be very high and depending on what happens with other veterans on the market, the Raiders could get a nice return on the rejuvenated Heisman Trophy winner. Plus: Vinny Bonsignore stops by and talks about the tragic passing of former Buccaneers and Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson.

It was a busy Tuesday as we challenged Raider Nation to be the Raiders GM and call in with what they want to do on defense in free agency and the draft. And, of course, Raider Nation delivered. We also get the latest from the Raiders facility in Henderson as our own Vinny Bonsignore gives us lastest on Mariota trade rumors and whether or not he thinks the team will keep Trent Brown.
