Silver and Black Today

The NFL stated last week that local teams and their governing bodies will determine - by market - what attendance rules will be in each NFL stadium. With the brand new Allegiant Stadium set to open in August, just how many Raiders fans will be able to attend games? Plus, how can the NFL deal with the unfair competitive advantage of some teams having fans in their home stadiums and others not?

The Las Vegas Raiders are taking nicely to their new home market as last week they signed their fourth exclusive local TV deal virtually locking up the market's media attention. While the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights remain popular, and UNLV continues to flounder, the Raiders are sitting pretty owning the smaller market many criticized after their approval for relocation. The team talks about why the move from Oakland has already paid off for Mark Davis and the organizations 100x over.

We've been staying on live video after our CBS Sports Radio 1140 show ends and talking with our viewers. This week we continue the conversation around the Las Vegas Raiders needs ahead of 2020 season and how the new Allegiant Stadium will differ from Oakland. Hear us chat informally with viewers/listeners.

It's the dog days of football summer but we're back with the latest Las Vegas Raiders news. The Raiders continue to dominate the Las Vegas television market signing their fourth exclusive deal. We talk about the team's possible solution to last season's red zone woes. We ask the question: of free agents still on the market, which one makes most sense to sign heading into camp. Scott Gulbransen, Your Boy Q, and Chaz Osborne bring you Las Vegas' ONLY all Raiders radio show.

They say don't bet with your heart but David Strauss of MyBookie.ag joins us to talk about the Raiders and their odds in their first season in Las Vegas. Strauss says the Raiders are in a tough division but expects a lot of prospective bettors to jump on the team due to its first season in Las Vegas. He talks about where Raider Nation may find some betting value laying some cash on their favorite team.

Just last week the news Allegiant Stadium and the Las Vegas Raiders will host the Pro Bowl in 2021 broke showing the promise of the team's new presence in Sin City. We talk about what a great win it is for the city and organization and ask: can the Raiders and Las Vegas help reimagine the entire Pro Bowl weekend? We think so and talk about why.

Las Vegas Raiders second-year cornerback Nevin Lawson joined us to talk about is work in the Broward County, Fla., community including feeding health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lawson talks about his work with kids and why it matters in all communities. We also talk 2020 Raiders football and Lawson shares why he thinks the NFL is sleeping on the Raiders and their first season in Las Vegas.

We've been staying on a bit longer on the video feed to chat after the show ends so we are sharing that with you too. Here's Q, Evan and Scott talking more about Raiders traditions and the changes coming at Allegiant Stadium.

The Father's Day edition of Silver and Black Today kicks off talking with Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Nevin Lawson. Lawson tells us about expectations for the 2020 season, the move to Las Vegas, and his amazing charity work in Florida this offseason. Plus: David Strauss of MyBookie.ag tells us if the Raiders are a good bet in 2020. We also discuss some of the new sights Raiders fans will see at Allegiant Stadium...including a painting of Elvis Presley in a Raiders jersey. Hosts: Scott Gulbransen, Your Boy Q & Evan Groat.

Let's face it, the Las Vegas Raiders offense has struggled over the past two seasons under Jon Gruden. The reasons vary but there's no doubt quarterback Derek Carr is poised to have a huge year for the Silver and Black. The Silver and Black All-Pro panel talk about Carr's progression and what he needs to do differently in 2020 and why a better supporting cast will help significantly. Despite that, Gruden and his staff also have to make adjustments for the Raiders to make a playoff drive.
