  • Buck Off Podcast: Defensive recruiting struggles, B1G media day takeaways, and a fall Camp preview
On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined by Jordan Williams, and we get into Ohio State’s upcoming season for the Buckeyes after we heard from Ryan Day and the player representatives at Big Ten Media Day.
Before we get into the players on the roster we have a conversation about the current recruiting struggles the Buckeyes are facing. In this conversation we discuss the recent recruitments, and how recruiting is not straightforward. We discuss the variables that effect recruitments and when the defensive recruiting might take a turn to the positive again.
After that, we get into our discussions from the media days for the Big Ten. We start the the head ball coach Ryan Day, who definitely should not be fired. His expectations for the defense sound high, but are actually pretty reasonable. We then get into his comments about how 11-2 is an unsuccessful season for the Buckeyes.
Once back from the break, we get into C.J. Stroud, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Ronnie Hickman’s appearance. The Buckeyes showed a lot of confidence on the podium and each showed a new side to themselves in their conversations. The confidence and conviction has me and Jordan excited for the Fall camp to start.
To close out the show, we discuss Ohio State starting Fall camp next week. We get into potential position battles, our biggest questions, and a relatively injury free roster starting the Fall camp.

On this week’s episode, Gene and Josh continue their Big Ten previews with a look at Maryland and Illinois. Before they dive into that, they take a look at what has been happening on the recruiting trail for Ohio State. The Buckeyes still have one of the top classes in the country, but it has been a real tough stretch in terms of misses on defense. They then get into the previews, where the Terrapins could have one of the conference’s top offenses if everything works out, while the Illini are still finding their way in year two under Bret Bielema.

The rest of the show is all about the Huskers and the Scarlet Knights, two teams that are looking to improve in 2022 with new quarterbacks. Will Scott Frost do enough to keep his job? • I-70 Football Show: A New College Football Players Association
Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Holy Land’s I-70 podcast. On this show we talk all things Big Ten football and basketball. After every week of action, we will get you caught up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players that you should be paying attention to in the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan.
After a spirit discussion around if the show should be called I-80 Football Show, we get into Penn State starting quarterback Sean Clifford hoping to lead the charge of a new college football players association with Penn State at the forefront. Clifford and the association have begun talks with the Big Ten regarding health insurance for sports related injuries post career, a representative on each campus to support students and advocate especially around medical conversations and revenue sharing from the media rights deal. The guys discuss what a player’s association could look like as well as if the players should unionize. Plus, they get into how revenue sharing could work, is it fair if only football players get paid? What would it look like for all athletes to benefit from revenue sharing?
After a brief conversation about the future of the XFL and USFL the guys finish the Big Ten schedule preview. It is time for the Big Ten to change the scheduling model because it is rough! The best games in the last few weeks revolve around Iowa, Minnesota, Purdue, and Wisconsin. After a remarkably close race in 2021 the fight to win the Big Ten West should be exciting as the champion will be decided in the last few weeks.
In their weekly pitstops, Jordan is in search of a support group since he plans to buy Madden 23. He cannot stop himself from buying it every year despite the fact it hardly changes and usually gets worse. Dante is anti-pre ordering video games. After multiple video games have come out unfinished Dante thinks it is a waste to pre-order video games especially when they have not released game play. Stay tuned as next week we begin our season preview where we break the teams into tiers and predict their records.

  • Buck Off Podcast: Breakable records in 2022, SEC Preview, and an opportunity to meet Ryan Day
On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined by Jordan Williams, and we get into Ohio State’s most breakable 2022 records and some of the recent NIL news around the football program.
To start, we discuss the announcement of Ohio State NIL fund The Foundations $1000 entry event to meet Ryan Day and Chris Holtmann. We talk about the amount of money that goes into running a football program in the modern age. Then we get into a conversation about how people in charge can not be mad at boosters because they had every opportunity to provide safe guards before the supreme court ruling.
After that we get into a discussion about the ACC, SEC, and the B1G media days that are happening this week and next week. The B1G meets next week so we discuss the big conversation topics that might get brought up. We talk about the most interesting stories out of the SEC and ACC including a lot of sports business talk in regards to the TV deals. We also discuss the leverage of each conference in their current states.
Once back from the break, we get into jersey numbers and then we get into a long conversation about the records we think will be broken next year. Outside of single game records we narrow the focus down to offense and talk about why C.J. Stroud and Jaxon Smith-Njigba can rewrite the record books.
To close out the show, we get into our SEC preview going through all our categories. We talk about why Alabama and Georgia are still the favorites to win the conference. The rest of the conference is playing catch up and we discuss if there are any real threats. We close out the show with a PTI style Big Finish to go through the biggest storylines for the SEC entering the season.

  • Bucketheads: Ohio State men's basketball mid-summer recruiting update (07/21/22)
Land-Grant Holy Land’s newest podcast, ‘Bucketheads’ takes you on a journey across the college basketball landscape every episode. The only basketball-focused podcast in the LGHL family of podcasts, co-hosts Connor Lemons and Justin Golba give the latest scoop on the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as all the other happenings in the college hoops world.
The Buckeyes are on several “final schools” lists for 2023 targets, with decisions looming in the next few weeks. With that in mind, Connor and Justin did a recruiting roundup of sorts, giving updates on the Buckeyes’ main 2023 targets and when we may get some final decisions. The recruits the guys touched on this week are:
    Devin Royal
    Scotty Middleton
    Xavier Booker
    Dailyn Swain
    Taison Chatman
    Lawrent Rice
With this season’s five-man freshman class and several other players expected to return, Ohio State only has space for one or two more additions to their 2023 recruiting class. The decisions of players who are deciding soon (Middleton, Royal) could have a big impact on those who aren’t as close to a decision, like Rice and Booker.
Before they closed out this week’s episode, the guys talk about Ohio State’s non-conference schedule While it sucks pretty hard for the home fans, there was never any chance Ohio State was going to add a tough home game with the potential for five ranked teams already on the schedule on the road/ at neutral venues.

  • I-70 Football Show: Football Season is almost here
Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Holy Land’s I-70 podcast.
In this episode the guys discuss what they are most excited for in the upcoming football season. Jordan is excited for the communal aspect of watching football games and interacting with people on social media. Dante cannot wait to use football as an excuse not to leave the house. While we are both looking forward to hopefully watching Clemson's further demise.
Picking up from a couple of weeks ago we get into weeks five, six and seven of the upcoming seasons. Once again, the Big Ten needs help with scheduling as weeks five and six are going to be tough to find much enjoyment. At least week six has Ohio State versus Michigan State, even though that could just be a blowout like last year. Week seven is more interesting with Penn State playing Michigan and Wisconsin playing Michigan State.
Taking a step away from college football the guys get into Roger Goodell mentioning that Sunday Ticket will be on a streaming service in 2023 while some NFL "analyst" think Lamar Jackson is not a top ten quarterback, in their pit stop Jordan talks about some fun basketball games as LeBron plays in the Drew League and TBT is at Rucker Park. Dante thinks Tiger Woods and all legends need to know when it is time to hang it up and retire.

We talk about how Miami’s recruiting role is effecting Ohio State leading to questions about the offensive line recruitment.
