For the final recap episode of Hangout in the Holy Land of the 2024-25 season, Justin Golba is joined by Land-Grant Holy Land Managing Editor Gene Ross to talk about the 2024 National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes defeated Notre Dame 34-23 to finish the season 14-2 and at the top of the mountain in college football. We give a full game recap, breakdown, and our full thoughts on the 2024-25 season that will go down in the history books. It is safe to say the 30 for 30 this season will be a must-watch.

Ohio State's Ryan Day and Notre Dame's Marcus Freeman met with the media in a joint press conference the morning before their teams met to decide who would take home the title.

In their final media availabilities before the game, the coaches discussed how their teams are built similarly from recruiting to transfer portal to philosophies, and more. Day went into how much the Buckeyes respected Freeman for his time at Ohio State and what he has done in South Bend, and much more.

No. 9 Ohio State women's basketball entered Sunday's game against the Penn State Nittany Lions 17-0 this season. After a close contest, the Buckeyes picked up their first loss of the season, giving Penn State their first Big Ten win of the season in a 62-59 Ohio State defeat.

Following the game, head coach Kevin McGuff, Chance Gray and Cotie McMahon spoke with the media.

Coach McGuff discussed the final play and how the missed threes weren't the reason Ohio State lost. He dives into why the Buckeyes fell to the Nittany Lions and what the home side did defensively to make the game so difficult for the Scarlet and Gray.

McMahon and Gray talked about the post game message from coach McGuff, how the players talked to each other following the game and a team that lacked grit against the Nittany Lions.

A little over an hour after Ohio State took its third consecutive loss by two points or fewer, a red-eyed and scratchy-voiced Jake Diebler spoke to the media about his team and the task at hand moving forward.

Diebler said that he does think that his team is resilient, but that ultimately how resilient they are will show up in the win column in the coming weeks. He also said that he learned Devin Royal — Ohio State’s second-leading scorer — was not going to be available earlier on Friday. He said Ohio State missed his effort and tenacity on the glass.

Micah Parrish also spoke, saying that Ohio State has an opportunity on Tuesday to “show that we can win these types of games” when the Buckeyes go play Purdue at Mackey.

Indiana head coach Mike Woodson also spoke, dismissing criticism of his team’s recent results and saying he does not listen to the outside noise. He pointed to IU’s 14-5 record and said they’ve played “some good ball.”

On today’s episode, Land-Grant's Matt Tamanini is in conversation with the managing editor of the Vegas Sports Information Network (VSIN) and lifelong Ohio State fan Adam Burke. Burke believes that since he doesn't envision ND scoring more than 20 points that the under is the most attractive play for the game, while OSU -8 might be tricky.

Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Podcast Network’s I-80 Football Show. On this show, we travel down I-80 to talk all things Big Ten Football. This is the only Big Ten Podcast that’ll cover all 18 teams. After every week of action, we will catch you up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players you should be paying attention to for the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan.

The 2024 college football season is coming to an end as Ohio State and Notre Dame are gearing up to face off in Atlanta with a national championship on the line. Dante and Jordan are back to discuss the game but as always they start on a tangent about Marvel movies, Disney, and their decision to flood the market with content. In other news, Penn State has been on a roll this week with draft-eligibility players deciding to return to Happy Valley for the 2025 college football season. 

Michigan led this charge in 2023 and won a national championship. Ohio State’s draft-eligible players returned for the 2024 season and they’re in the national championship and are favored to win. Penn State is looking to be the third straight Big Ten team to head to the national championship game after star players decided to turn down the NFL. As of recording, Penn State has returned quarterback Drew Allar, running backs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, and defensive end Dani Denis-Sutton. Thats just a few of the names as the Nittany Lions look to set up a deep run in 2025. 

Dante and Jordan take a moment to recap the semi-final games from last week. Ohio State proved that they can win a tight game against one of the best teams in the country. Previous Ohio State teams probably would’ve lost this game but this team fought til the end and earned their spot in the national championship. Notre Dame and Penn State turned into an instant classic and one of the best games of the year. After a defensive battle through three quarters, both offenses exploded in the fourth quarter for a combined 31 points with Notre Dame winning the game on a last-minute field goal. 

Ohio State has been on a mission all season with one goal in mind, winning a national championship. They are 60 minutes away from bringing home their first national championship since 2014 but they have to get past Notre Dame and Marcus Freeman. No one expected the Fighting Irish to make it this far but fighting is apt as they fought through adversity to reach this stage. To shock the world Notre Dame will need to find a way to score against the Silver Bullets, can their defense slow down Jeremiah Smith and the Buckeyes to give themselves a chance?
