Matvei Michkov played a decent-enough game, scoring the team’s lone goal and setting up several chances, but somehow played 2 fewer seconds than Noel Acciari in the regulation loss.

Charlie & Bill do their best to keep their sanity breaking down another baffling effort from Rick Tocchet, Owen Tippett, Tyson Foerster and the rest of Philly’s underachieving lineup.

The Philadelphia Flyers are 0-5-3 to start the 2026-27 season, and despite a decent OTL at home to the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday night, the Flyers are on an historically bad run by record and goal-scoring.

With the fans calling for action, national headlines and insiders discussing a shake up, Rick Tocchet’s job security in question and underperforming/unavailable veterans on the roster, questions about a shake-up involving the coach, Travis Konecny, and others have begun.

Through 40 minutes, the Philadelphia Flyers appeared to be trending in the same direction of the first 7 games, an offense-less uninspired loss, although they did have more shots than usual, few of them were dangerous.

And then an intense third period with tremendous efforts by Oliver Bonk and Trevor Zegras forced overtime against the Seattle Kraken, in hopes of the team’s first win of 2026-27.

The Flyers were able to kill a nearly-heartbreaking too many man penalty in overtime, and were able to push the game to a shootout, where they went 10-4 a season ago. But it was not to be on this night as Trevor Zegras, Tyson Foerster and Denver Barkey came up empty, leaving Matvei Michkov as the lone scorer, while Vladar stopped 3 of the first 4 attempts but was beaten by Bobby McMann to seal the Flyers’ 8th consecutive loss.

The Philadelphia Flyers scored their first power play goal of the season on Thursday night, as Matvei Michkov banged home a puck that squeaked under Linus Ullmark for his second of the year. But the Flyers couldn’t get any of their other season-high 29 shots on goal through the Ottawa Senators’ netminder, falling 2-1 on a third period power play goal by Carter Yakemchuk from a Claude Giroux feed.
