The Philadelphia 76ers complete their three-game road trip by falling to the Memphis Grizzlies, 117-111, their fifth consecutive loss that drops them to a league-worst 2-12 record. Joel Embiid had his best performance of the season, finishing with a game-best 35 points in his first action with fellow All-Stars Tyrese Maxey (8) and Paul George (2). But the playing time with the trio was short-lived as George suffered a left knee hyperextension (the same knee he injured in the preseason) early in the third quarter, forcing him to leave the game for the night. Big man Guerschon Yabusele had a nice game off the bench with 17 points, including five made 3s.
Six players scored in double figures for the Grizzlies, led by Desmond Bane's 21 with five made triples. Memphis knocked down 19 from beyond to Philadelphia's 10. The host Grizzlies played tonight on the second night of a back-to-back.
The PHLY Sixers discuss George's latest injury and another frustrating outing by the 76ers.
Tyrese Maxey reportedly called out Joel Embiid for poor habits and being late to team activities in a Sixers team meeting following their loss to the Miami Heat. Will this be the moment that helps Nick Nurse turn the team around?
The PHLY Sixers podcast discusses a team in disarray.
The Philadelphia 76ers dropped their fourth straight game, losing to the Miami Heat 106-89 on Monday night to fall to 2-11 on the season thanks to a disastrous offensive performance in the second half, including a decisive third quarter that saw the Miami Heat outscore the Sixers 35-16 to take control of the game.
Jared McCain and Paul George led the Sixers with 20 and 18 points, respectively. Joel Embiid, who came into the game doubtful because of an illness, finished with just 11 points in 31 minutes of play. Jimmy Butler led the Heat with 30 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
Join the PHLY Sixers team as they try to figure out what the heck is wrong with this team.
Despite 29 points from rookie Jared McCain, the Philadelphia 76ers fell to the Orlando Magic on Friday night to drop to 2-10 on the season. The Sixers’ offense scored a measly 3 points in nearly 8 minutes of game play during a 20-3 Magic run. Joel Embiid (20 points) and Paul George (13 point) struggled mightily from the field and played a huge role in the collapse.

The Philadelphia 76ers have struggled without Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey — raising some real concerns. But there has been one true bright spot for the team — rookie Jared McCain. Over the last four contests, McCain is averaging 25.5 points per game and has made a strong case to remain in Nick Nurse’s rotation. But the real question needs to be… should he be considered for a starting spot in the backcourt with Maxey when he returns?
The PHLY Sixers team discusses the possible fit as a starter for the rookie and how his play might work alongside the Big 3.
Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain dropped a new career-high 34 points, but it wasn't enough to hand the Cleveland Cavaliers their first loss of the season as they improved to an NBA-best 13-0, defeating the Sixers 114-106. The shorthanded 76ers fought until the end with contributions from starters Kelly Oubre (20), and Caleb Martin (18), plus help off the bench from Reggie Jackson (13). The Cavaliers were led by their All-Star backcourt of Darius Garland (25) and Donovan Mitchell (23). McCain added nine assists, falling one short of a double-double.
The PHLY Sixers show breaks down Philadelphia's valiant effort as they fall to 2-9 on the season.
The Philadelphia 76ers welcomed Joel Embiid back to the floor in their NBA Cup game on Tuesday against the New York Knicks. But a rusty Embiid struggled and the Sixers lost to New York, 111-99.
Like Embiid tends to starting a season, he struggled offensively. He finished with 13 points on 2-11 shooting, looking far from the player on an MVP pace at this time a season ago. There were some bright spots for the Sixers. Paul George (29 points, 7 threes) and rookie Jared McCain (23 points) both had big nights. But the Sixers were outmanned by the Knicks.
Join the PHLY Sixers team as they break down Embiid’s return to the lineup, and what the Sixers need moving forward.
Guerschon Yabusele has been a revelation for Nick Nurse’s Sixers to open the year, outplaying Andre Drummond as a backup. Could he end up in a starting lineup next to Joel Embiid, and how will his role evolve moving forward?
The PHLY Sixers podcast discusses how the rotation could shake up, and whether Jared McCain could see his role grow in the weeks ahead.
The Philadelphia 76ers picked up their second win of the season in an overtime thriller over the Charlotte Hornets, escaping with a 107-105 win in Paul George’s home debut.
The Sixers were led by a career night from Jared McCain, as the rookie finished with 27 points in 31 minutes off the bench, shooting 10-18 from the field and 3-8 from 3-point range. Guerschon Yabusele, who was inserted into the starting lineup after the half, chipped in with 20 points and 8 rebounds in the win.
Join the PHLY Sixers team as they break down a much-needed win in what is hopefully the Sixers’ final game before Joel Embiid returns to the lineup.
The Philadelphia 76ers dropped their 5th straight game with a 116-106 loss to the Lakers on Friday night. The Sixers had no answers for Anthony Davis, LeBron James or Austin Reaves, with the Lakers making 16-35 from 3-point range as they cruised to an easy win in Los Angeles. With the loss, the Sixers went 0-3 on the West Coast road trip and now stand at just 1-7 on the season.
The Sixers received a bounceback performance from the struggling Caleb Martin, and the best night of Jared McCain’s career as the young guard chipped in with 18 points off the bench.
Join the PHLY Sixers team as they break down another disappointing loss in what has been a disastrous start for the Sixers.
