On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined by cohost Jordan Williams and we get into a few different conversations surrounding Ohio State and the CFB world.
We begin the show with our unpopular opinions with Jordan leading us off talking about a certain RB and his skill level. Then I get into mine about the DB’s and how they are going to perform in 2021. Moving forward we discuss the expectations for the 2021 class after it was finalized with the JTT decision. Our expectations are extremely high for Ryan Day’s squad moving forward, but you have to listen to see how high.
After the break Jordan gives the hottest takes I’ve heard from someone who covers Ohio State. We also discuss the disrespect that Ryan Day is getting due to a stupid list and how Ryan Day is definitively better than almost every coach in the country.
Lastly, we get into Ohio State’s top LB’s since 2005 with a list that shows this might be the best position.

On today’s episode, Gene and Josh start out by discussing the craziness that was the first week of the new name, image and likeness rules in college sports. They talk about the opportunities that are now available to the athletes as well as some of their concerns about where things could go wrong.
They then shift to the recruiting world, as the Buckeyes landed a pair of massive prospects in the past few days in five-star 2021 defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau and 2022 four-star wide receiver Kojo Antwi. The duo lauds the work of both Larry Johnson and Brian Hartline, as well as discuss where both prospects fit into Ohio State’s plans — including a lengthy discussion about whether or not JTT is a realistic option on the basketball court. Speaking of hoops, E.J. Liddell is back and the Holy Land boys are thrilled about it.

Land-Grant Holy Land’s newest podcast, ‘Bucketheads’ takes you on a journey across the college basketball landscape every episode. The only basketball-focused podcast in the LGHL family of podcasts, co-hosts Connor Lemons and Justin Golba give the latest scoop on the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as all the other happenings in the college hoops world. During the offseason the Bucketheads will release an episode once every two weeks, with the structure shifting to weekly as we get closer to college basketball season.
In episode three of the new Bucketheads podcast, Land-Grant Holy Land’s only college basketball podcast, Connor Lemons and Justin Golba discuss Duane Washington and EJ Liddell’s respective decisions.

On this episode, Matt Tamanini talks to the host of Land-Grant Holy Land's Buck Off podcast Chris Renne who visited Mira Costa High School last Friday night to take in the Elite 11 quarterback camp and the finals of The Opening elite recruit camp. Chris got to watch Ohio State QB commit Quinn Ewers throw both in drills and a 7-on-7 game, and he breaks down what he saw.
Chris also watched Ohio State commits linebacker C.J. Hicks and wide receiver Kyion Grayes, as well as former OSU commit LB Dasan McCullough, and potential Buckeye safety Xavier Nwankpa. Chris uses his experience as a former college football player to break down what he saw from each prospect.

On this week’s episode, as the guys started off the podcast discussing the latest in Ohio State recruiting. They talk about the latest surrounding J.T. Tuimoloau and how we should handle #JTTWatch, as well as a slew of new Crystal Ball predictions for yet another quality defensive lineman in the 2022 class. They then pivoted to to basketball, where they took a look at some of the biggest matchups in this year’s Big Ten/ACC Challenge and ponder the futures of E.J. Liddell and Duane Washington Jr.
That is when everything went awry, as shortly thereafter news broke that Washington would be remaining in the NBA Draft and not returning to Ohio State. The guys react to the news as it happened, and discuss how this will impact both the Buckeyes and the future of Washington. As if that wasn’t enough, news broke at nearly the identical moment that five-star 2023 Ohio native defensive end Brenan Vernon has committed to Notre Dame. A big blow for Ohio State, Vernon’s decision came as a bit of a surprise.
