I'm Coni J. Mackey and this is Silver Hair Wisdom — where real women tell the truth about what they've lived through and what it taught them.

For years I thought my anger was a flaw in my personality. I was too much, too intense. It took me a long time to understand it wasn't a flaw, it was a signal. I share the moment my step-daughter called out something I hadn't even admitted to myself, and what decades of unspoken anger had actually been trying to tell me.

Reflection: What are you gonna do with the anger you've been carrying?

Strip away the roles, the expectations, the version of you that other people decided you should be — who's actually there? I share the story of the moment I stopped running from myself at 65, and why I believe who you are underneath all of it has been enough the entire time.

Reflection: Who are you outside of everyone else's expectations?

Choosing yourself isn't selfish, it's ending the habit of managing everyone else's needs at the cost of your own. I talk about becoming a mother at 17, decades of putting myself second, and the moment everything shifted: when I lost my eyesight and had to finally ask for help.

Reflection: What would you do right now if you finally gave yourself back permission?

There's a version of your life that looks completely fine from the outside, confident, capable, well put together. All the while you're exhausted on the inside. I talk about the years I spent performing confidence in male-dominated industries, why I mistook it for who I was, and what actually happened when I slowly stopped.

Reflection: Where in your life are you performing instead of actually being?

Fear and intuition can feel exactly the same in your body — but they're not the same thing, and confusing them can cost you. I share a story about a car dealership, a bad decision I didn't listen my way out of, and what I finally learned about telling the difference between old programming dressed up as instinct, and the quiet, steady knowing that's actually yours.

Reflection: What would you do right now if you stopped calling it fear and started calling it information?

We're taught to manage our emotions, not feel them, smaller grief, a more convenient version of sadness. In this episode, I flip that idea on its head: what if your emotions aren't the problem, but the signal? I share the moment I stopped listening to myself completely, when I lost my eyesight and what that taught me about the difference between programming and truth.

Reflection: What emotion have you been ignoring or pushing down and not really listening to?

When was the last time you made a decision without running it past someone first? In this episode, I break down why second-guessing yourself isn't a personality flaw — it's a learned pattern, one that followed me through motherhood at 17, my marriage, and my career, until a single quiet moment of choosing to trust myself changed everything.

If you are a woman over 50 and something in your life is shifting and you cannot fully name it yet, this channel is for you.

I created Silver Hair Wisdom because I needed it and could not find it anywhere. And I am willing to bet I am not the only one. In this video I share who I am, what brought me to this point, and why I built a community for women who have already done a lot of living and are ready to start listening to the wisdom they have always carried.

This is not a wellness brand. It is not a self-improvement channel. It is not going to tell you to think positive or believe in yourself. It is a space for women who want something that goes a little deeper.

Welcome to Silver Hair Wisdom with Coni J. Mackey.

If you've ever wondered who you are now that life looks different than you imagined, you're not alone.

This podcast is for women over 50 who are ready to stop pretending and start listening to the truth inside themselves. Each episode features an honest conversation with a real woman — not an expert, not a celebrity, just someone who's lived it — sharing what she's learned about who she is now.

No theory. No fluff. Just women with wisdom worth hearing.

New episodes every two weeks. Subscribe so you don't miss one and always, trust the wisdom you already carry.
