"The opposite of belonging is fitting in." Having chanced upon this quote, Tony did the logical thing and brought it to the Simblified gang to share their thoughts. In this reflective episode, Naren, Chuck, Srikeit and Tony chat about belonging, vulnerability, their dinner guest list and more.
PS: No Linking Park songs were harmed in the making of this episode

We've never done a cricket episode mostly because 3/4 of the panel doesn't really care for the sport anymore. But that's not to say we never cared for it. Chuck used to spend a fair bit of his teenage years on Cricinfo's stats pages. Srikeit gorged on Wikipedia. Naren is drawn to anything that has cricket - and by virtue of their presence in PG Wodehouse stories, means he knows a few stories. Tony of course, runs a lovely show called Bits & Pieces with friends.
In celebration of the IPL, we bring to you a half pints episode - where there are 4 facts, stats and stories around the lovely sport. We digress (as we usually do) into other memories, stats, moments and stories. Join the gang as we hit this one out of the park.

Chuck recently read Morgan Housel's bestseller, The Psychology of Money. It's a fascinating book that speaks about the mental aspects of saving, wealth creation and investing, rather than the technical aspects. It's a must-read for those in their 20s.
In this episode, we discuss some of the points in the book, share our own money stories, and realise that as we get older we're getting more philosophical.

It's a new episode of Simbified half pints, the monthly affair where we come to the table with four random facts. This week:
Why are brides in China getting paid for alliances? How did mangoes evolve huge seeds? Why is peaceful Canada fighting over a tiny island? And who made this 10000 steps thing up?
Join the Simblified panel as we discuss these and make several bad jokes along the way.

Wow, our little show has crossed a triple century! (Waves mic to audience) (gets scolded by producer)
Er... Anyway. In 2015 when Chuck and Naren decided to try a small project, who would have thought that it would still be running 8 years later, with a loyal fanbase and two more hosts? To celebrate the milestone, we call on one of the smartest folks we know - Amit Varma of The Seen & The Unseen fame. The history of our shows are intertwined (something we speak about), and Amit had appeared on the live Episode 100 all those years ago. Now, we're all older, wiser, and (in Amit's case) more successful. We speak about all of this in an episode where goofiness turns to profundity, where Wodehouse quotes segue into virtual hugs. Join in for a celebration of this show!
Thank you to all the listeners over the years, and the folks at IVM podcasts for signing us up, tolerating us and making us sound way better than we actually are.

Moral Philosopher and Intelligence Researcher James Flynn wanted to debunk a racist article by UC Berkely professor Arthur Jensen (who was concluding that blacks scored lower on IQ tests because they were genetically inferior). He ended up discovering that far from scoring lower, they were actually doing steadily better, and to his amazement, so was the entire population, regardless of race or ethnicity.
This was later called the Flynn Effect and numerous studies across the world, across populations and over time frames confirmed his conclusions
Join your SImblified Hosts Naren and Tony as they try to explore the effect and what might the possible causes be
A great piece on the phenomenon of intelligent people holding biased and stupid views, which we talk about in the episode is

Our boy Srikeit has successfully made it to the West. As he acclimatises, he reports in with his findings from his first 10 days in a new country. What's different? What's the same? Is there a Liverpool support club? Is the famed Canadian politeness real? Does Srikeit have a pet snowball? All these and more, in this episode.

It all started when Chuck read a book. He thought it would be a fun topic to bring onto the show to have one of those random fun discussions.
Join the Simblified gang as we somehow manage to string together classical musical, T20, Ford's Model T and Microsoft Bing in one episode.
And yes, despite the buzzwords in the title, this is not a LinkedInesque episode.
