  • The Gospel of St. John - Chapter 3, Part 1 - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez

Bro. Ernie continues this deep dive into The Gospel of St. John - hold on tight!  Get your Bibles, your notebooks and your highlighters ready!

Jesus doesn’t tiptoe around the big questions, and neither do we. From the moment He steps into the temple at Passover to the late-night meeting with Nicodemus, the Gospel of John shows a Messiah who confronts false worship, reads the heart, and calls people to real transformation.

We sit down with Brother Ernie to pick up our John Bible study in chapter 2 and move into John 3: the temple cleansing, the shocking line “Destroy this temple,” and why the disciples only understood it after the resurrection. Along the way, we talk about sanctification as an ongoing process, why the Spirit brings truth to remembrance only when we actually learn and apply the Word, and why worship is always for an audience of one.

Then we slow down on the phrase that has sparked questions for centuries: “You must be born again.” We unpack what it means to see the kingdom of God as spiritual perception, not just information, and why Jesus connects the new birth to water and Spirit. We also tie John 3 to Acts 2:38, the parable of the sower and the seed, and the reality that spiritual growth is a process that should produce fruit. The closing story hits home: kindness can become the loudest testimony when people are watching for something real.

  • "A Simple Presentation into The Book of ACTS" - Chapter 13, Part 1 - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez

Bro. Ernie continues this journey deep into The Book of ACTS - hang on!  Get your Bible, your notebook and your highlighter...let's go!!!!

God doesn’t always whisper. Sometimes He speaks with enough clarity that the only real question left is whether we’ll obey. We sit down as a table family again after a summer break, share travel stories, and talk about those “Jesus never goes on vacation” moments when prayer and ministry show up in the middle of normal life.

Then we open the Bible to Acts chapter 13 and watch a healthy church at Antioch do something rare: they worship, they fast, they pray, and they listen. When the Holy Spirit says to separate Barnabas and Saul for the work God has called them to, the church doesn’t debate it into the ground. They fast and pray again, lay hands on them, and send them out. We also slow down to talk about what it means to “minister to the Lord” when God has no needs, and why everyday kindness to people is a real way to honor Jesus.

We dig into hearing God’s voice through Scripture and the pattern we see from Sinai to Samuel, and we give a straight warning about fasting and prayer: it isn’t a way to manipulate God, it’s how we crucify the flesh so God can speak and work through us with clarity. From Cyprus to the showdown with Elymas, Acts 13 also shows spiritual warfare, bold leadership, and a surprising conversion when Sergius Paulus believes after seeing God’s power.

  • The Grandgirls Unleashed!

About every 6 months or so we get the grand-girls together...Presley (10), Olivia (6) and Sophia (5) - this was recorded around America's 250th Celebration. Yes, the monkeys are let loose - be forewarned that they are not professionals and often get too close to the mic...but, this a moment etched in history.  Enjoy!

Freedom is easy to celebrate until you slow down and ask a child what it actually means. Sister Diahanna sits down with the Gran-Girls, Sophia, Olivia, and Presley, plus Sister Audia, for our summer hangout that starts with pure Fourth of July joy: fireworks, family time, and the little moments that make summer break feel magical.

Then the conversation turns deeper in a way only kids can do, simple words that hit hard. We talk about freedom of worship, the gift of being able to pray and go to church openly, and the sobering truth that many believers around the world face persecution for doing those same things. We also share why we support children through Compassion International and how faith should move us toward real compassion, not just talk.

From there, we lighten it up with back-to-school excitement, making new friends, and the ultimate childhood goal: getting your own room. If you’ve ever navigated sibling drama, privacy, or teaching gratitude in a busy home, you’ll recognize the humor and the heart. We wrap with what the girls love most right now, a sweet nod to family and Mexican heritage (and the food), plus a quick Michael Jackson moment that brings the whole table to life.

Subscribe for more faith-based family conversations, share this with a friend who’s raising kids, and leave a review with your favorite takeaway. What does freedom mean to you today? (*Recorded on 7/9/2026)

  • The Gospel of St. John - Chapter 2, Part 2 (b) - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez

We continue our journey into The Gospel of St. John with with Bro. Ernie.  Such a powerful book!  Get your Bible, your notebooks and let's go!!!

Tables get flipped in John 2, but the real shock isn’t the noise. It’s what Jesus is protecting. We walk through the cleansing of the temple at Passover and ask the uncomfortable questions: when does “helping people worship” turn into profiting off worshippers, and what does righteous anger look like when it’s holy instead of selfish?

From the merchants selling sacrifices to the money changers taking advantage of travelers, we talk about why Jesus calls it “my Father’s house” and why His zeal makes everyone freeze, including the guards. We also bring it home with a plainspoken conversation about church fundraising, ministry support, and the danger of giving people the sense that we’re just here for their money. Greed is still sin, even when it hides behind religious language.

Then we lean into the moment the leaders demand a sign and Jesus answers, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” We connect that line to the resurrection and to some of the clearest “God in Christ” Scriptures in the New Testament, including John 14 and Colossians 2:9, plus a simple illustration that makes the idea stick. We also talk about Luke 24:45 and why we pray, “God, open my understanding,” because real faith goes deeper than being impressed by miracles.

  • "A Simple Presentation into The Book of ACTS" - Chapter 12, Part 2 - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez

Bro. Ernie continues this journey with us into The Book of ACTS.  Grab your Bibles, your highlighters and your notebook and let's go!!!

Peter is free, the church is praying, and somehow the hardest part is believing the answer standing outside the gate. We keep our study in Acts 12:13–25 simple and honest, because the details are where conviction lives. Rhoda hears Peter’s voice at Mary’s house, runs back in from pure joy, and the very people interceding for deliverance tell her she must be out of her mind. That mix of faith and hesitation feels uncomfortably familiar, and it opens a real conversation about expectation, doubt, and what it means to pray like God can actually do what He promised.

From there, the story turns toward Herod Agrippa I and the danger of pride. We talk through the political tension with Tyre and Sidon, the public oration, and the moment the crowd calls Herod a god. Scripture doesn’t soften what happens next: he gives God no glory, and judgment comes immediately. Acts 12 draws a straight line between God’s mercy and God’s holiness, and we also connect that line to wisdom passages in Proverbs, Psalms, and Ecclesiastes on the fear of the Lord, not panic, but reverent awe and a sober awareness that nothing is hidden from God.

We close by bringing it home: testimonies about healing, a missed moment to witness, and the difference between “praying” and “believing.” If you’re hungry for a grounded Bible study on Acts, Christian faith, miracles, repentance, and the fear of the Lord, this one will challenge you and strengthen you. • The Gospel of St. John - Chapter 2, Part 2 (a) - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez

Bro. Ernie continues his deep dive into the Book of St. John - get your notebooks and pens ready!

Tables flip, coins scatter, and an entire temple marketplace goes silent, because Jesus refuses to let worship be sold. We open the King James Bible to the Gospel of John 2:13-25 and follow the story of Passover in Jerusalem where merchants, money changers, and religious routine collide with the authority of Christ.

We talk through why Passover is more than a calendar detail and how John uses it to show Jesus fulfilling the Law of Moses while revealing the heart of God. Then we slow down over the cleansing of the temple: why the location matters, what “my Father’s house” means, and how Psalm 69 (“The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up”) frames this moment as prophecy, not just anger. We also wrestle with the leaders’ demand for a sign and Jesus’ shocking reply, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up,” pointing straight to the resurrection and the “temple” of his body.

From there, we connect the dots to Luke 24, where Christ opens the disciples’ understanding of Scripture, and we press the practical challenge: read the Word for yourself, learn to recognize God’s voice, and don’t confuse spiritual titles with spiritual fruit. The passage closes with a piercing line about belief and motives, reminding us that Jesus knows what is in man and calls us to real faith, not just excitement over miracles.

Bro. Ernie continues this journey into one of my favorite books, The Book of John...get your pens, highlighters and notebooks ready!

A wedding is about to turn into a disaster, and Jesus fixes it without stealing the spotlight. We walk through the Gospel of John chapter 2 with our Simple Discipleship Unfiltered table crew, slowing down the story of Cana until you can feel the pressure in the room: the hosts are out of wine, Mary refuses to let shame take over the celebration, and Jesus responds with a firm but loving boundary about timing. Then the servants obey, the jars fill to the brim, and somewhere between the water pot and the cup, the impossible happens.

We also dig into the background behind the six stone water pots, connecting the “purifying of the Jews” to Old Testament washing practices and what ceremonial cleansing means in real life. Along the way we talk mikveh, biblical archaeology, and why those historical details are not side quests but clues that deepen Christian Bible study and make the sign more vivid.

From Cana, we move into the heart takeaway: humility is not weakness, it is self-control and obedience, and Jesus models it all the way to the cross (Philippians 2). We get practical about discipleship, authority, learning to receive instruction, and how God sometimes works miracles quietly for the people who are actually doing the carrying. • "A Simple Presentation into The Book of ACTS" - Chapter 12, Part 1 - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez

The journey continues!  Bro. Ernie takes us deeper into The Book of ACTS - get your notebooks and pens ready!

Chains, guards, locked gates, and a king who wants blood. Acts 12 doesn’t read like a quiet devotional, it reads like a pressure test for what we really believe about Jesus, suffering, and prayer.

We gather around the table on a rainy Monday in Texas and talk plainly about trials: Christians don’t get a free pass, and the early church never expected roses and rainbows. We push back on the “genie Jesus” and prosperity gospel mindset and remember the global church, where persecution is not hypothetical. That perspective matters because it reshapes what we call “blessing” and what kind of faith actually endures.

Then we dig into a simple presentation of Acts chapter 12. We walk through Herod’s political strategy, the execution of James, and Peter’s arrest during Passover. We talk about why Peter is held under extreme security, why authorities fear the reputation of miracles in the Book of Acts, and why the church chooses constant prayer instead of outrage, riots, or wrecking their public witness.

Finally, we sit with the turning point: an angel steps into Peter’s cell, chains fall off, the iron gate opens on its own, and Peter realizes God delivered him from everything stacked against him. The first place he goes is Mary’s house, where believers are still praying, a living reminder that prayer is not performative, it is powerful. • "A Simple Presentation into The Book of ACTS" - Chapter 11, Part 3 - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez

Thank you for joining us on this journey with Bro. Ernie deeper into the Book of ACTS - Get your notebooks ready!

The moment the early church admits “God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life,” everything changes. We sit around the table and walk through Acts 11:18-30, watching the gospel move from a familiar circle into a widening world, and we slow down long enough to ask what that means for our witness today.

We talk about the Holy Ghost as power to be witnesses, not just a spiritual milestone, and why you do not need to be a Bible scholar to tell someone what Jesus has done in your life. From Jerusalem’s questions about Peter to the scattered believers preaching as they travel, Acts 11 gives a clear picture of progressive revelation and a church learning to obey Jesus’ call to reach beyond old categories. We also dig into key cross references, including John 1 and Romans 10, and why you cannot interpret “call upon the name of the Lord” in a way that contradicts the pattern lived out across the Book of Acts.

Antioch becomes the center of gravity as Barnabas arrives, sees the grace of God, and exhorts believers to cleave to the Lord with purpose of heart. We discuss unity, holy living, and the daily discipline of being a credible Christian witness, then we tackle prophecy and ministry gifts with honesty: prophets are servants, not celebrities, and pressure to perform can push people toward manufacturing what God never said.

We close with Agabus’ famine prophecy and the church’s practical response: generous relief given according to ability, sent through Barnabas and Saul, setting the stage for what comes next in Acts. If this Acts Bible study helps you, subscribe, share the show, and leave a review, then tell us what topic you want us to study next.

  • "A Simple Presentation into The Book of ACTS" - Chapter 11, Part 2 - Bro. John "Ernie" Perez

Continue on this journey with us as Bro. Ernie breaks down ACTS Ch. 11, Part 2 - get your notebooks and pens ready!

The turning point in Acts isn’t a miracle or a prison break, it’s a sentence: “God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.” That realization reshapes everything, and we walk through Acts 11:19-30 to see how the early church moves from a mostly Jewish mission into a widening gospel meant for the whole world. If you’ve ever wondered how Christianity became more than a Jerusalem movement, Antioch is where the story accelerates.

We read the passage, then zoom out to the bigger Bible thread that holds it together. You’ll hear us connect “whosoever” salvation across key Scriptures like Joel 2:32, Romans 10:13, John 1:14, and John 3:16, along with God’s promise to Abraham that all nations would be blessed. The goal is simple clarity: calling on the Lord is not making up our own version of Jesus, but responding to the Jesus revealed in Scripture and preached in Acts.

From there, we get practical. We talk about why Barnabas is sent, why he goes to find Saul, and why “Christians” is first used in Antioch. We also draw a sharp line between evangelism and revival, and we challenge ourselves on the purpose of the Holy Ghost: power to be witnesses, from our city to the uttermost parts of the earth. If you want an Acts Bible study that stays straightforward while still going deep, this conversation will meet you there.
