    Really Good
I was recommended this book by a friend so am glad I followed their advice. A difficult subject, examining some of the darkest parts of the holocaust through a small number of characters. Chess is used as a theme throughout the novel - initially I thought this would be boring. I was totally wrong - if anything, the chess parts of the novel are exciting. Not surprisingly, considering the main subject matter the novel is harrowing and emotional in places. However, it demonstrated the strength of human spirit and also how kind and evil humans can be.
The narrator does a brilliant job. I would thoroughly recommend this book. I will also be looking for anything else the author writes.

    Strong tale
Enchanting and captivating overall a well told tale in an uncomplicated style I look forward to the next instalment ,,,,,,,
    Q
    Exciting and well paced.
The silk tree was a book I was very unsure of when I bought it but being written by Julian Stockwin and narrated by Peter Noble it had to be worth a try.
This book is a great well researched adventure story. I never wanted to switch it off. It is well narrated as I expected and a book I would listen to again and again.
The story and main characters moves across the globe to the far flung corners of China where they meet with a group of very unlikely people. They all come from such different backgrounds and have differing strengths that the two characters are able to dig themselves out of many exciting and seemingly impossible situations.
    A ripping yarn
Doesn't ever get overly exhilarating or complicated. Easy listening and enjoyable though not up to the standard of Stockwyns Kydd series.

This book is a cross genre historical fiction of the journey of a large 16th century sapphire. It contains several intertwined fictional genres from romance, eternal love, criminal intrigue, conspiracies and murder plots. It contains stories of treacherous pirates and romantic mariners coupled with a woman who never being to sea saves a ship from attack. It moves into the story of two women, one elite Saudi Special Security Force soldier and the other a civilian war planner defending a single tree in the northern region of Saudi Arabia from Iraqi invaders following ancient aquifers. The next 1001 Arabian Nights
Would you consider the audio edition of The Journey of the Sapphire to be better than the print version?
Yes. I read the printed version and liked it but the audio version was very enjoyable.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Elenora of course because she is the one who started the whole thing. I liked her.Jasmine was a strong character to me, she was brave to do what she did.The character of Sylvia was also very likeable, especially the second story of her.
Have you listened to any of Christine M. Buoys other performances before? How does this one compare?
I don't usually listen to female narrators, of all the audiobooks I have, only one other was a female presenter. Christine did a wonderful job, her voice is suitable for both genders and she did that quite well.
Who was the most memorable character of The Journey of the Sapphire and why?
Tough question. All the characters had some memorable traits that I liked in the book.Elenora seems to be strong and courageous even though she sounded bad by Consuelo's narrative. I liked Sylvia as well mainly after she met the Persians when she was made Captain. I liked Jasmine and Dan. The narration during Dan's channeling experience was very good!
    Any additional comments?
I think the author wrote a splendid book and the narrator made it even better.

    Excellent work!
This book is an excellent follow up to the author's first novel, "Puritan Witch". Set in the time frame just following that of the first book, this story follows Rebecca Eames' son, Daniel, and introduces many other interesting characters of the era. Peni Jo Renner's descriptive and historically accurate writing style flows smoothly throughout the book. I am extremely impressed with this author's abilities and look forward to more from her in the near future.
    Great historical fiction
If you are a fan of historical fiction as I am, you will not want to miss Letters to Kezia: Book Two of the Puritan Chronicles. Peni Jo Renner does a great job telling the story set in the late 1600's. The story was well written and well told. The author clearly did a great deal of research as well before putting pen to paper. Highly recommended.
Great Read... Hard to put down!
I loved this book! I highly recommend it for everyone to read. Peni Jo is quite talented, creative and does her research. Nice job!
    I absolutely loved this book.
I absolutely loved this book. I was drawn into the story right from the start. I felt I was there watching as the story unfolded. Wonderful book!!
    Absolutely worth a read!
A well-written and impressively well-researched story set in the late 17th century, this is the story of a young woman who, through one rash act, finds herself thrust into a sequence of situations that threaten her very life.

    Title: Etched in History
    Author: Amanda Marie
    Narrator: Robin J Sitten
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 7 hrs and 7 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 04-07-15
    Publisher: Linkville Press
    Genres: Fiction, Historical
    Publisher's Summary:
Two families: one white, one black. One family escapes the oppression of 19th-century slavery; the other seeks refuge from the oppression of nature gone wrong. They meet in the wilds of Oregon, in a world far different from the places of their origins. Hope is a strong, vivacious girl, open to friendships and willing to accept all. Joshua is the black teen who becomes her best friend even though her family does not wish it. When Hope goes blind from scarlet fever, Joshua is instrumental in finding help for her, and Elijah and Mia pave the way for a relationship that spans the centuries. A few years pass, and now Joshua comes to Hope's aid again, when it seems there is a way to regain her sight. When their relationship blooms into something more serious, it turns out that the ones who are truly blind are those who let racism stand in the way of love. Set in 1800s Oregon, Hope's journey has her meeting historical figures such as Oregon Senator George Baldwin and Mr. William Clark (Montana's Copper King) and is a story that will surpass the limitations of prejudice.

Lots of well-reseached details in this historical romance
Virginia would love to know more about her Nanaâs great grandparents and, after the funeral, she finally finds a clue. But where is this strange town in Oregon, with a name thatâs missing from the map? After a slow start, she finds out, and readers are taken into the past, where farmers follow the Oregon trail and slaves flee the South, where Indian and white live uneasily together, and where education might be the beginning of understanding.
Trials of travel and homesteading, sickness and healing, love and prejudice all have their place in author Amanda Marieâs long historical romance. Details of clothing, lifestyle and dreams ring pleasingly true, though the wedding vows and sermons seemed seriously long! Itâs a world where scientific and technological achievements are just beginning to change the shape of life, and where love might prove more color-blind than blind. Different lead characters take the stage, and their voices are convincingly and sympathetically rendered. Nice lessons are woven into sermon and internal dialog, nice symbolism into the exchange of rings, and nice honesty into the valiant force of freedom.
Etched in history is a long historical romance firmly anchored in US history and Oregon life.
Disclosure: I found it on a deal and I offer my honest review.
    Etched in History
Love this story and I did not want it to end. Amanda, please tell me there will be an story with Virginia and the man she meet at the end of the book.
Take the time to read this beautiful love story.
Wow, when I first started reading this book I was not sure what to expect. It starts out in current times and then goes not the stories of the mid 1800's traveling across the country and settling into Oregon. It slowly builds around Hopes life and all the struggles that she went thru. Etched in History was beautifully written and shows that even in times where inter-racial relationships where frowned upon by outsider that friendship and love can overcome any obstacle. Like I said when I began reading this I was not surer what to expect but since I finished I can't wait to find more from this author.
