A good read, but some distracting holes

Although I very much enjoyed most of this book, I felt it had several loose ends that, had they been tied up, would have strengthened the book. On the other hand, real life sometimes leaves loose ends, so perhaps that should not be considered a serious fault.

All in all, I would cautiously recommend this book to other readers.

This is a story of love and of memory

The Silk Factory is not just the title of this story, it is also it's heart. Rosie Milford and her two small children have moved into a house that was once part of a silk factory. The house was left to Rosie when her mother died recently, and she hopes that she and her children can make a new start there.

quite boring sequel

After the first novel, this one was disapointing. There was almost no character developement. Characters are either good or bad without change. Evie turns into a WWI super woman without any flaws, quite boring and annoying. Most of the excitement seems to have been spent in the first novel. Moments that could have been dramatic were skipped or only mentioned. Also even more predictable than part one.

Great book

I loved that the narrator had the right accent for the setting, enjoyed it immensely.
