    Title: A Christmas Carol
    Author: Charles Dickens
    Narrator: Kyle Munley
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 3 hrs and 10 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 02-10-17
    Publisher: SAGA Egmont
    Genres: Kids, Ages 5-7
    Publisher's Summary:
"A Christmas Carol" is a novella by English author Charles Dickens, first published by Chapman & Hall on 19 December 1843. The story tells of sour and stingy Ebenezer Scrooge's ideological, ethical, and emotional transformation after the supernatural visits of Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come.
The book was written and published in early Victorian era Britain when it was experiencing a nostalgic interest in its forgotten Christmas traditions, and at the time when new customs such as the Christmas tree and greeting cards were being introduced. Dickens' sources for the tale appear to be many and varied but are principally the humiliating experiences of his childhood, his sympathy for the poor, and various Christmas stories and fairy tales.

TV and Movies versions were good, but the book is better. . .
One of my co-workers encouraged me to read this since I have only seen the TV/Movie versions. It was a quick read and very enjoyable. Fortunately, the TV/Movie versions weren't too far off the mark. Regardless, there were facets of the story that you would only get through the book, which is why reading the book will always be my favorite option.
BAH! HUMBUG!! "God bless Us, Every One"
A Christmas Carol is a beloved Christmas favorite. Nothing says Christmas like favorite Christmas stories. This timeless tale has been told in many versions. Iâve seen the movie and play but Iâve never read the book. I thought it was about time to finally read this tale.
The illustrations throughout the book were fun to look at. Not common to find illustrations in books today unless they are children stories.
Lots of great quotes come from this story but the most famous is BAH! HUMBUG! followed by:
    "God bless Us, Every One!"
    Standalone
As great to read vs as to watch as a production.
We've enjoyed many kinds of productions of this classic Scrooge story. The original makes us 'rise to the occasion' - or at least gets us to mentally take the time to step back in that era. Life was so different, so the real factor is (I think) a little richer, than already assembled viewables. Emotional, and the older language adds some incentive to digging into the story.
    A must read!
Dickens has always intimidated me. Somehow, I made my way through high school and college without having to read one of his novels. Finally, a few weeks before Christmas, I decided to give this a try when I learned it is relatively short. I figured if it took some work, at least it wouldn't take all that long. I'm sorry I waited so long. It was impossible for me to separate this from the many versions of A Christmas Carol I've seen over the years. I loved it. I enjoyed the glimpse into the time and place of the story. The story and theme are, of course, legendary.
Don't be intimidated. This is a book everyone should read at least once.
    Classic I Know
I have tried this one before and was distracted within the first five chapters but with the advise of a colleague I am going to attempt this one again. I am late 30's and sometimes have a tough time focusing for long spans of time unless the story is captivating from the get go, you have to appreciate writing for the sake of verb-age and description to get into this.

    Title: Three Paws
Subtitle: Sharp Teeth, Flat Teeth, Book 1
    Author: Bob Jenkins
    Narrator: Meghan Crawford
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 1 hr and 10 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 02-01-17
    Publisher: Robert F. Jenkins
Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 1 votes
    Genres: Kids, Ages 5-7
    Publisher's Summary:
Three Paws is the first book of the series Sharp Teeth, Flat Teeth, an animal fantasy for young listeners.
What would happen to the creatures of the forest if humans disappeared? At first, the animals might go on living as they have always done. But what if a mysterious event occurred and they began to change to become something more than they were?
Three Paws tells the stories of the Fur Clans that evolve in the Woods Beyond the Broken Lands. Follow the adventures of Three Paws the beaver, Flitter the pack rat, Shot-in-the-Butt the bear, Snaggletooth the cougar, and all the animals who gather near Blue Rock to form a new society, the Covenant of Good Manners.
Scientists tell us that we can never know what goes on inside an animal's mind. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they could speak and tell us? Of course, animals don't have the kind of lips, tongue, and vocal cords to form human words. How would they communicate? Telepathy? A sensory language of physical signs and scent, howls and chatters, huffs and chirps? One clear, cold night, with a full moon shining above the hills of northern California, the Sky Turns Green (the mysterious event). Overwhelming pulsations reverberate through the forest, firestorms roar back and forth across the land. Many animals are killed, others sicken and die, but the ones who survive gradually discover astonishing new powers: self-awareness, heightened intelligence, and the ability to communicate with each other.
Sharp Teeth, Flat Teeth is my deep bow of respect to this imaginary animal world. The stories are uplifting, challenging, exciting, and ultimately meant to blow your mind.

Something for my grandson and I to get OUR teeth into!
My 11 year old grandson and I listened together and the first thing he asked when it ended was "When is the next one coming out!" That pretty much says it. He really liked that the fur animals all got along and I liked that the main character has a disability that she overcomes every day. It's a really nice story and we loved how it left us hanging till the next book. Meghan has wonderful diction and a great listening voice. We are fans. Hurry up Bob Jenkins!

    Story of Mrs. Claus
Mary Christmas: The True Story Of Mrs. Claus
Older child reading book as there are no pictures and is of moderate pages.
Starts out with Santa and he likes the old way of doing things, when he could fix the toys. Now he needs tech guys to be able to fix them.
He is learning how to use apps on the tablet and is having a hard time of it. Mary has a secret and she knows Santa does not like any secrets at all...
Mary can not say no to many things and decides to head out for a last minute surprise when she runs into bad weather.
    Short, Quick and So Sweet!
Who knew there was a story behind Mrs. Claus? She seems to get passed over by many and seen as a supporter of Santa and the elves. The book tracks back to how Mary and Chris (Santa) kept meeting over the years, and how she finally came to be Mrs. Claus.
This was a short, quick read and it was adorably sweet. Mary only wants to help and do her own part for Christmas. She gets her opportunity after Santa receives a very special Christmas request.
Chamorri is the elf who has brought the North Pole into the 21st century technology, and he takes charge in creating new gadgets to help Mary complete her new Christmas mission. All is set for a go after Santa leaves the North Pole to deliver presents around the world on Christmas Eve.
Only, Santa hates secrets, and Mary and Chamorri have been keeping a BIG one from him for weeks planning Maryâs Christmas Eve outing.
This book was adorably cute and the way Mary is tied in to to story with her Christmas mission will always make me think a falling star on Christmas Eve is none other than Mrs. Claus herself, delivering the gift of love around the world.
    Darling story
It is a heart warming, well-written story. Easy for younger readers to follow. Not much else to say about it. Merry Christmas!
    good book
Very cute little book about Mrs. CLAUS! A little bit different and imaginative. Would be
Nice to read to an older child.
The Secret Mission of Mary Claus
What does Mrs. Claus do on Christmas Eve while Santa is delivering presents?
This is the story of a secret mission that Mrs. Claus performs to bring orphan children and loving families together on Christmas Eve. With the help of some very ingenious elves, Mrs. Claus is ALMOST able to keep this mission a secret from Santa.
Mary Claus learns that her promise to never keep secrets from her husband would have to be broken for the greater good of some very needy children.
I honesty loved everything about this short chapter book about the Santa Claus family.
This story shares the strong family values and loving relationships that exist between Santa, Mary and all the elves at the North Pole. It is an original story with adventure, suspense, a broken promise and forgiveness. This book conveys the true meaning of Christmas in a very special way.
This ebook is very well written and formatted for the Kindle.
Highly recommended for the entire family!

    Members Reviews:
Wonderful to revisit old friends but misses the mark somewhat
Having read the original Pooh stories, I am delighted to revisit the hundred acre wood. However, these stories missed the innocence and wonder of the originals. To be fair, nobody else has been able to capture that unique approach to childhood either. It is difficult to carry a host of characters that only a child would really understand. The original stories were quite critical of the characters because of their pride (rabbit), ignorance (owl), cowardice(piglet), depression (eeyore), and just plain stupidity (pooh). But, it was not insulting them. They were flawed characters in need of their loving master, Christopher Robin. In short, "you silly old bear." This new group of stories tries to carry on those flaws but does not touch on new ground really. And does not quite have a child's heart with its mixture of innocent cruelty mixed with loads of love. After all, there is just fluff between its ears.
A wonderful book and tribute to an iconic bear
Anyone who loves Pooh needs this book! It also introduces a new "person" - Penguin. There are photos(not in the book but available when searched) of Milne and his son with a stuffed penguin; however; the character was never in any of his books. These stories were written in honor of Pooh's 90th birthday and are in the style of the original stories, as are the illustrations. A wonderful book and tribute to an iconic bear!
A joyful read about an adorable bear and his friends.
I read it with my grandchild and we both loved it. Winnie was a joy as we thought we'd never read any more lovely stories about Winnie the Pooh.
I like the seasonal themes of the stories
I'm usually a purist when it comes to books but these stories are charming and well done. I like the seasonal themes of the stories. Also that the stories are done by different authors, rather than all by one author as has been done before.
    Wow what a read.
Great sequel to Winnie the Pooh book. I shall treasure it always.
