Good Photos to Show Kids

The reason I got this book was to show our grandchildren about the habits of sea turtles. I have read Mary Alice Monroe's three books that involve stories about people who care for sea turtles. Being a "walker" for the sea turtle watch on our beach during turtle season, I wanted our kids to know what this meant. This charming little book has nice photos, and basic information about the nesting habits of sea turtles and their hatchlings. It is done as a personal scrapbook by one of the characters in "Swimming Lessons" for her daughter, but still is a very useful introduction to these creatures for children and adults.

DO NOT PURCHASE ON KINDLE

This is a great book for a kid but DO NOT purchase it on your kindle. They scanned in two pages at a time in order to show complete photographs and it DID NOT WORK. The photos and writing are SO SMALL you can't read it. A TOTAL waste of money.

Very good book to read to my girls at night

Very good book to read to my girls at night, they loved it and I look forward to reading it to them many more times. I even learned a few things!

Reminded me of slow hot summers, and motherhood. Society then during our mothers lives was very unforgiving. Great mystery

I truly loved this book and the second one to follow it. I wanted so much for the story to continue into a 3rd book. I loved the development of the characters the depth the secrets that only women can share and their group of turtle herders. There was laughter, tears, octogenarian health concerns and depletion of characters as they faded with age. Such a warm and loving book throughout. The mystery of it was almost second billing, I lived near the ocean when young and this just made me miss it now that I live in the sonoran desert! A good read for a rainy day, or a day on the beach during vacation. Mystery intertwined throughout this lovely rememberance of Summer.

Beautiful beautiful !

I bought this for my beach lover, wildlife lover granddaughter. I adore Mary Alice Monroe and read everything she publishes. I live in the area she writes about, raised my children on the very beach where the Turtle team labors to protect endangered loggerhead turtles. In fact, the other night my husband and I got to see a nest hatch and helped guide the babies to the sea. This books has beautiful pictures and fascinating information about these amazing sea turtles. It is a treasure.

Really cute fun entertaining book. I listened to this during a car trip with my grandsons. This is one of the best children's books that we have ever listened to together. Although they had a great time listening to the stories, I also enjoyed them. When it was over they asked me if there were more and if we could by the book.

All of the stories were well written, fun, interesting and full of imagination. From giant tomatoes to time-travel to zombies to manners each one is creative and unique in a way that keeps you listening to find out what will happen next.

There are little life lessons woven into them, but they are conveyed in a way that is easy to understand. I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone who is looking for a fun entertaining family listen.

The narrator Ryan Borses was fantastic. All the characters, voices and sound effects were perfect. He was the perfect narrator for this book and he will hopefully also narrate any future Willakaville books.

Mathew Heinecke has written a wonderful and entertaining collection of stories. This is the only book of his on Audible hopefully there will be more in the future.

Interesting stories for kids

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Both my son and I enjoy listening to this audiobook before our bedtime. It is divided into number of different stories that are all happening in the same magical town, Willakaville. Savage banana warriors, mushroom-eating zombies and many more weird creatures and situations are making this kids book one of the most creatively written we have ever had. Beside being interesting and funny, the stories are often educational and have a hidden and deeper meaning. 5 stars from us!

Great story for middle elementary school age kids

Great for kids in 4th-6th grade. Well written collection of shorts compiled in time order to create a novel. Each can be listened to independently or as a whole. The narrator is zany and catchy keeps you interested in the story and is good for sound effects. Kids are very entertained by books with colorful pictures and easy to recite words. This book will capture the attention of any kid because of the great story that accompanies it's beautiful exterior.

However, I would begin with the young child in your life who will be delighted with Marian Seldesâ elegant and soothing voice, Donald Correnâs beautifully written text, Richard W. Great holiday book

Best series of books I've found on holidays as they do the fun stuff and go into the meanings of holidays. Really like the Halloween and Christmas books.

GREAT author for kids (and adults)

All of her books are wonderful about the origin of holidays and how today's traditions come from those beginnings. Her other holiday books also do a great job in combining religious and secular traditions. I have bought all of her holiday books becuase they teach ME things I never knew about those holidays. I have all her holiday books and as my kids get older, I will buy her books on other subjects if my children show interest in those areas. I really hope she writes a 4th of July book.

Great -explains where the different traditions come from. My son really likes it and still wants to read it even though Halloween is over for this year past.

Joe Corsoâs award-winning book Tommy Topper and the Pixie Princess was a delightful read, full of whimsical imagery and colorful characters. Tommy Topper is a wizard-in-training who ultimately saves the mystical world Kranta from the evil emperor Ling Cam. This book holds the ultimate treasure hunt, and Tommy Topper must find every one of the magical objects or evil will rule. As he discovers the hidden objects one by one - the enchanterâs stone, The Book of 1000 Spells, the Sapphire Sceptor, the magic seeds and the Tree of Life and Prosperity - Tommy must battle the dragon-like Drygon, three-headed dog Cerberus in Hades, the serpent Zorko , a gargoyle and three witches â Krustella, Tushella and Wistella. A fun part of the narrative is the arrival of Ryanna, the Pixie Princess, who adds to the tale and intrigue with her pixie dust and her gorgeous good looks that cannot help but captivate Tommy. Un gran complemento para el primer libro! Me gusta mucho el humor estrafalario de Elias Zapple. Nicu es uno de mis personajes favoritos. Me identifico con todo lo demasiado bien. Esta historia está seguro de ganar más lectores renuentes. Habrá risas constantes como el cuento que se está leyendo.
