Enjoyed the Series

Yesterday, I finished Talking Dirty with the Boss by Jackie Ashenden. All right I have been waiting sometime for this story, because I have enjoyed the other books. I have to say that I did like the story.

Like Joseph, Luke McNamara has a bit of quirk. He isn't your typical hero. No, he suffers from OCD, but he doesn't want anyone to know that he suffers from it. I guess when he was younger he was shamed into thinking it was bad. So, he figure the best way is to hide it from everyone. Trying to hide his condition, he became a serial dater, which gave the image he was a player.

Now Marisa Clair does come off flighty and a bimbo at times. However, I thinks she's a bit clever for her own good, because she knows what guys tend to look at when they see a pretty blond with great assets. Yet, this combination gets her in a bit of trouble, and she has a hard time learning her lessons. You know some people are like that.

Basically, Luke and Marisa have this instant chemistry, since Luke has OCD and needs to follow order this is a bad idea. However, somehow he overcomes it and they have crazy heat between them. In a way to cope with the situation, Luke figures that it would be best to keep their relationship a secret. This makes Marisa feel like a dirty little secret, and it has to do with a past relationship (go figure).

All right, I have to say it's kind of unique to find an author who's willing to take a chance on a hero and not make him like every other hero. I think that makes the Talking Dirty books interesting, because it's not your same old stuff. Some people may have a hard time with it. Honestly, it makes these stories standout more. So, yes, I did like Luke's quirkiness. I think him and Marisa are one hot couple. So, if you are looking for a book without a typical hero, you might like Talking Dirty with the Boss.

This book was great! I laughed out loud in some parts, wanted to cry when Luke was struggling with his OCD, and cheered loudly when they got their HEA! By the end I was sighing, totally in love with the man. He and Marissa were perfect for one another. She was sweet and saucy, he was stiff and starchy. Their banter was at times hilarious, at times heartwarming and at others gut-wrenching. Their story starts when he becomes her boss and implements all these new office rules she bucks at every turn.

It had a great story line but the writing was juvenile, repetitive, and tedious. Will not recommend. I was bored.

Mason doctor accused of rape went to prison for five years. Wants revenge against Kat.

When Kat is tied to a mattress she believes it is a misunderstanding. Mason has kidnapped her.

I would not call Kat a slave. Mason wants her to cook and clean wearing a maids costume. I call that a maid.

Kat is a super cheesy character. She thinks she has it so rough. Not even. Mason is always gone during the day. He eats breakfast goes to the bar and returns for dinner. It's like reading someone's boring marriage of slavery.

I'm bored reading about wifey and husband complaining about the cleaning.

Is not it ironic that she is serving time for a crime she did not commit when the same thing happened to him.

Wow! Now Kat wants to fix Mason. Why not find out who he was and who you were and try to piece together the situation together and find out if it was someone else. Get on with the story already.

I have to skim thru most of the story because it is taking too long to uncover the truth. This story is unrealistic and corny. So much drama. A lot of repetition of the same mundane events.

Amateur writing style.

This story is so juvenile.

It's cliche story with Kat growing up in foster care and currently living alone and Mason the uncommitted playboy with parents who died while he was in college who left him an inheritance. Then he becomes damaged by being wrongfully accused of rape and wants to seek revenge on the person who put him prison and ruined his life.

Using her words, "I still can't understand how he was accused of raping Kat". Me either, but would not it be nice if you could explain it to us so the story would move along at a more interesting pace?

Using her words again, "she wants to help Mason find the person who did this to him". I say get to it then. I've been waiting and now at 63% into the story and you still have not bothered to write about that yet. You seem to only be concerned with the stupid love they have for one another. Who cares at this point.

Sweet, heartbreaking forever love

I can't put into words all the emotions this book made me feel. Happy and sad, frustrated and annoyed (when the characters didn't do what I thought they should be doing) it hit me in every feels button. There are some triggering moments in the book for anyone that's been through domestic violence or experienced trauma but that just made the characters that much more relatable for me. I loved the balance of sweet and sexy, of angst and lightheartedness. Oliver knocked this one out of the park and getting to hear it made the experience all the better than just seeing the words on paper.

Where does Come as You Are rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

Elizabeth Theb narrating Come As You Are and Running with The Devil are both very good audio books to listen to! I have only listened to a few and some have been dissapointing but so far Elizabeth has managed to make me fall in love with this series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Come as You Are?

At Maven and Dornan's Wedding Nathan and Skye reconnected and that to me was the turning point of this novel!

Which scene was your favorite?

Even though it was such a sad time in the story I loved seeing Drag with their baby! It was so beautiful to see their bond.

Once again, I don't yet have words to describe all the feels this book gave me. I can say that these men that Amelia writes are MAGNIFICENT!

My Two Pennies

I adore Elizabeth Tebb and her narration for this story. The emotions and the way we're told the story makes you truly feel as though you're right there yourself. Skye is an incredibly strong woman and what she has survived is unbelievable. Drag is the guy you'd fall head over heels for and when these two reunite you can't help but hold your breath to see what will happen. Throughout this story I was in a wave of tears, you feel what they're is going through and it just hits deep to the core. Amelia Oliver has me hooked on this series and I can't wait to jump into book 3. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Keeps getting better

This book is so good, the series just gets better and better. Even better brought to life via audible!

Excellent!!!

Loved this book! I was glad to finally get the full story on what happened to Sofia, through her own eyes/memories. She really had a bad time and real trauma in her life, the rape on top of the abuse she endured from her father was the last thing she needed and she broke. It took a long time for her to pull herself together and Killian really helped her to regain her confidence and heal even further.

They were a great match but their journey wasn't a smooth or easy one as they faced the past in order to make a real future. I love how Killian and Teo made up and regained their former tight friendship again as well, to the point that I really feel Teo approved of Killian being with Sofia (well as much as a big brother can approve of his baby sister dating!). I also loved getting updates on Teo & Evie and Lety & Brody too, even a small cameo from the crew from Teo's old bouncing job too!

I will admit to tearing up more then once as their were a few really emotional scenes but I also laughed a lot as Cecy balances the emotional trauma with good doses of humour as well! This book marks the last book for the Tres Santos siblings but I'm happy that it does not mark the end of the series! I can't wait for Once Touched and to find out who will be starring in it! I hope it will be one of Killian's siblings, in particular Finn or Wren! I loved those two in this book and the rest of Killian's siblings too!

Heated melted Me!

Heated is a fabulous book in the When SEALs Come Home Series by Anne Marsh. We have met former Navy Seal, smoke jumper Joey Carter in the previous books, but we never really knew him. He is so much more than than his reputation of loving fast bikes, women and a good time. As he is trying to outrun his past, he gets stopped by Deputy Sheriff Mercedes Hernandez, in more ways than one.

Deputy Sheriff Hernandez is a stickler for the rules. As the new sheriff in the town of Strong, she is responsible for making sure others follow those rules. When handsome, rough, smoke jumper Joey Carter continues to barrel through town, racking up numerous speeding violations she decides she needs to take a different approach to get through to him.

Anne Marsh continues to write an amazing story with strong characters, amazing plot lines that pull at the reader's heart strings. I was hooked from the first page to the last. Mercy and Joey's story is believable and captured my heart. Well done Anne! I can't wait for more!

Heated

I really liked Joey and Mercedes story. Joey living in the wild side with war demons chasing him. Mercedes trying to be a good cop and keep him safe from himself and to be the best cop she can be. Joey tries seducing her but he is the bad boy of Strong and can't go there or can she?

Fun & Fulfilling story

I've been wanting to read Joey & Mercy' s story and, boy, am I glad I did. It was nice reading about two apparently dissimilar people who, actually, are alike in the areas that count. Their histories clearly leading to their compatibility. Reading about them dancing around each other, testing each other and then taking the chance to be together was satisfying to say the least. Really an enjoyable read.

No action, no tension, no fire, no conflict

Blah. Conflicted moderately bad boy. Police officer good girl. One or two dates on the down low. Yawn.

Not for Me

First and best, I was gifted this book in return for a review, unfortunately I didn't like it. The audio was poor quality, like it was recorded in an echo chamber, not a problem that I have had with other books. I found that the accents didn't work for me, very distracting. But I didn't care for the dialog, it just wasn't enjoyable for me to listen to.

Fun and unexpected

Jan Springer did a great job with this novella. I thought the characters were developed enough for the length of the book. Teri Clark Linden did a fantastic job with the voices of various characters. This was the first "erotic" book that I have listened to and I fully enjoyed it. I was voluntarily provided a review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher.

Loss Drives a Couple Apart, Love Brings Them Back Together

A short story is hat provided me with all I needed. A son is lost and the couple can't cope and fall apart.

The heroine decides t take extreme measures to punish the person she feels responsible for her son's death and her ex- husband saves her from herself.

The story goes back to when the couple meet and married..truely a love story derailed by their son's death.

I felt the love and faithfulness they had for each other despite their divorce. I look for romance, true love, attraction, no eyes for anyone else no matter what. I liked both of the characters.

The narrator did a great job...make and female voices, emotion, pacing...all great!

My only complaint is the author would use cock one moment and then penis...pussy and then vagina...just didn't flow. There were hot romantic scenes but sometimes they used a word that seemed clinical.

I recommend for hot romantic emotional fulfilling romance.

Loved it!

Totally fun, hot and suspenseful, this short novella brings a little of everything to the table. Avery and Mason, divorced, Avery at the alter getting remarried, Mason kidnapping her. But why do you ask, would he do this? Well, love is the main reason. Mason is in love with his ex-wife and plans on stopping her from making the worst mistake of her life. There are things the two of them have to work through, but sex is not one of them. There are some really hot scenes. enough to keep you hooked and listening! The death of their son, and Avery's need for revenge has caused some danger, making his book from start to finish full of action, whether fistfight, gunfight or bedroom there is always something going on. Jan Springer is a new author for me and I plan on looking for other books she has out.

Teri Clark Linden is the narrator of this book. She always brings her A game to her narrations, incredibly talented with her ability to separate her characters with believable voices. She is able to give the inflections and emotions necessary to draw you in and keep you in the story right along with her.

A Phenomenal Read

Do you believe in Prince Charming?

This was an incredible read!! I loved the intensity of the story. It had romance, love, loss, suspense, and comedy all rolled into one amazing and unforgettable story. I loved the characters and the every day life of an author who believes there are no fairy tale Prince Charming out there for her. The story felt so real as if I was watching a video in my mind and I felt as if part of this author was written within the pages of this story. It is one story that I will treasure and will be running back to to read for something fun to read and enjoy over and over again. I highly recommend this phenomenal read to all to enjoy.

A Romance With A Little Twist

A tale of romance with a few twists and turns and some rip roaring action. Part romance, part mystery, part suspense. I read this book so quickly without intending to. I honestly couldn't put it down. This author takes romance to a whole new level and I loved it. A sweet read with a little real life excitement in it. I want to live in that apartment building. I absolutely loved this story.

When Karen tries the online dating experience looking for her Prince she becomes disappointed. Where have all the good men gone she wonders. Going about her life as a divorced writer with two growing children doesn't give a woman much time to pursue the dating scene. Now add all this with a book deadline, a neighbor that might just be a suspicious character and strange men wanting to date her that she knows would never go for a woman like her and you see that Karen has some issues on what she thinks of herself. Join in the fun as she learns to accept her true self and also learns that the definition of knight in shining armor might just change in the modern world. Fun, fast paced, full of plot twists and surprises this is one book that you don't want to miss.

Fun sweet and funny tale

Oh my did I love the characters in this book. Karen felt like a friend I'd want to cheer up about all her disaster dates while pepping her up to try again. Connecting to her and the other characters was easy. The story had levels of attraction in there and lots and lots of giggle fun moments that made you want to keep turning the pages.
